Don Sweet
Don Sweet (born July 13, 1948) is a former star football placekicker for the Montreal Alouettes and Montreal Concordes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). College years Sweet graduated from Washington State University in 1971. He was a Pacific-10 Conference all star kicker in 1971. Perhaps his greatest moment happened when WSU upset defending conference champions Stanford 24 to 23 in 1971. His 27-yard game-winning field goal was scored with no time left on the game clock. Sweet had never played football before he tried out for his university team. Professional career In 1972, he began a successful 13-year career with Montreal, the second longest in team history. He played with the Alouettes until 1981 and with the Concordes three more years. He played 185 regular season games, scoring a team record 1,342 points, including 312 field goals and 325 converts. The Canadian Football League (CFL; , LCF) is a Professional gridiron football, professional Canadian football league in Canada. Danny Kepley
Daniel Kepley (born August 24, 1953) is a former star linebacker for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Kepley played college football at East Carolina University. He tried out with the NFL's Dallas Cowboys before starting a 10-year career with the Eskimos from 1975 to 1984. He was an intense player and hard tackler. Teamed with fellow linebackers Dale Potter and Tom Towns for 8 seasons, this trio formed the backbone of a defence that played in 7 Grey Cup games, winning six championships. Kepley won 3 CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player Awards and was an All Star 5 times. Following retirement, Kepley spent the 1985 season as an assistant coach with the Eskimos. He began a real estate career, worked as a football analyst on both radio ( CFRN) and television ( CBC, ESPN), and from 2002 to 2010 was an assistant coach with the Eskimos. Sonny Wade
Jesse Harold "Sonny" Wade (born April 1, 1947) is an American former professional football player for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1969 to 1978. He was an All-American at Emory & Henry College in Virginia. Early life Wade attended Martinsville High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was selected to the first team all-state football team as both a quarterback and punter. Not only excelling in football, Wade also was on the 1964 State Basketball Championship team and performed well enough on the baseball diamond so that he was offered a professional baseball contract by the Pittsburgh Pirates franchise out of high school. Spurning the baseball contract, Wade decided to attend Virginia Tech on a full football scholarship after graduating in 1965. Humphrey David Boone Jr. (October 30, 1951 – March 26, 2005) was an All-Star Canadian Football League (CFL) defensive lineman, winner of five Grey Cups. Career Rookie year Boone graduated from Eastern Michigan University and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. He played 5 games in 1974, the year the team went to Super Bowl VIII. Ron Estay
Ron Estay (born December 22, 1948) is a former defensive lineman for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Career After graduating from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1972, he was selected by the Denver Broncos in the 8th round of the 1972 NFL draft. He moved to Canada and played for the British Columbia Lions in 1972 and Edmonton from 1973 to 1982, and helped lead the team to five straight Grey Cup championships from 1978 to 1982 as a key member of the "Alberta Crude" defense. He played in 1983 and 1984 for the Washington Federals of the United States Football League (USFL). Estay was a two time CFL All-Star in 1977 and 1980 and Western All-Star four times in 1973, 1977, 1978 and 1980. He played in nine Grey Cup championships, winning six times.
