62nd Venice International Film Festival
The 62nd annual Venice International Film Festival, was held from 31 August 2005 to 10 September 2005, at Venice Lido in Italy. Italian production and costume designer Dante Ferretti was the jury president for the main competition. Spanish actress Inés Sastre hosted the opening and closing nights of the festival. The Golden Lion was awarded to ''Brokeback Mountain'' by Ang Lee. Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and Italian actress Stefania Sandrelli the recipients of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. Digital films competed in all categories for the first time in the festival's history. During this edition of the festival, an International Design Competition of the new Palazzo del Cinema took place. The winner of the competition was ''5+1 & Rudy Ricciotti''. Seven Swords
''Seven Swords'' is a 2005 ''wuxia'' film produced and directed by Tsui Hark, starring Donnie Yen, Leon Lai, Charlie Yeung, Sun Honglei, Lu Yi and Kim So-yeon. An international co-production between Hong Kong, China, South Korea and the Netherlands, the story is loosely adapted from Liang Yusheng's novel '' Qijian Xia Tianshan'' and is completely unrelated to the novel except for some characters' names. Digital cinematography is the process of capturing (recording) a motion picture using digital image sensors rather than through film stock. As digital technology has improved in recent years, this practice has become dominant. Since the 2000s, most movies across the world have been captured as well as distributed digitally. Shinya Tsukamoto
is a Japanese filmmaker and actor. Jean-Michel Frodon (born 20 September 1953 in Paris) is a journalist, critic and historian of cinema. Domenico "Mimmo" Rotella (Catanzaro, 7 October 1918 – Milan, 8 January 2006) was an Italian artist considered an important figure in post-war European art. Edgar Reitz (born 1 November 1932) is a German filmmaker and Professor of Film at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung (State University of Design) in Karlsruhe. Amos Gitai () is an artist and an Israelis, Israeli filmmaker, born 11 October 1950 in Haifa, Israel.
