Bade District
Bade District () is a district in the central part of Taoyuan City, Taiwan (Republic of China.) It is the smallest district by area in Taoyuan City. History Bade City was originally established as Bakuaicuo (八塊厝) during Qing Dynasty rule. During the period of Japanese rule, it was called ''Hachitoku Village'' (八塊庄), and was governed under Tōen District (桃園郡) of Shinchiku Prefecture. After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China, the area was established as a rural township and named Bade Township in 1946. Wild Strawberry Student Movement
The Wild Strawberries Movement () is a protest movement in Taiwan begun on 6 November 2008 after the visit of the People's Republic of China's ARATS chairman Chen Yunlin to the island. Police actions on protests aimed at Chen suppressed the display of Republic of China national flag and the playing of Taiwanese songs. This prompted a group of 400 students in Taipei, Taiwan to begin a sit-in in front of the Executive Yuan in protest of Taiwan's . The word ''wild'' recalls the Wild Lily student movement of 1990, which led to vast political reforms and Taiwan's first general democratic elections. ''Dang Guo'' ( zh, t=黨國, p=Dǎngguó, l=party-state) was the one-party system adopted by the Republic of China under the Kuomintang. It was from 1924 onwards, after Sun Yat-sen acknowledged the efficacy of the nascent Soviet Union's political system (notably governance under a dictatorship). Chiang Kai-shek later used the Kuomintang to control and operate the National Government of the Republic of China (ROC) and the National Revolutionary Army. Chen Yunlin (; born December 1941) was the chairman of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS), the body responsible for negotiations with Taiwan in the People's Republic of China in 2008–2013. Early life Chen was born in 1941 in Heishan, Liaoning. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1966. In 1967, he graduated from Beijing Agricultural University and started to work as technician in a chemical factory in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, and later on promoted to be factory director. The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall () is a national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China. It is located in Taipei. The monument, surrounded by a park, stands at the east end of Memorial Hall Square. It is flanked on the north and south by the National Theater and National Concert Hall.
