''50minutes'' is a 2006 charity album, consisting of indie (music), indie, folk music, folk, electronica, and alternative rock, alternative artists from across the world, with all proceeds going to the Medical Foundation for Care of Victims of Torture, Medical Foundation. The concept of the album is 50 one-minute long tracks from 50 different artists. It is compiled together in such a way as to produce a continuously flowing piece of music of exactly 50 minutes length. Track listing Bonus Audio There is a bonus interactive CD ROM on the disc. This has a selection of streamable bonus songs. These include Exercise1's favorite songs that did not make the final compilation due to bands recording more than one song or submissions that were entered past the deadline. Exercise1 Recordings (often shortened to EX1) was a London based independent record label that released debut singles from Jeremy Warmsley, A Million Billion, Plans & Apologies, The Coral Sea (band), The Coral Sea, and Twin Thousands. It also released the 50minutes compilation album in late 2006 in music, 2006, featuring 50 one-minute tracks from 50 artists, including Daniel Johnston, Youthmovies, and MC Lars amongst others, with proceeds going to the Medical Foundation for Care of Victims of Torture, Medical Foundation. Pacific Ocean Fire were a folk rock group from Leicester, England, who released five albums. Their music was generally considered alternative or Americana (music), Americana. Andrew Robert Nielsen (born October 6, 1982), known professionally as MC Lars, is an American record producer, rapper, cartoonist, podcaster and educator. Lars is one of the self-proclaimed originators of "lit-hop", and is the founder and CEO of the independent record label Horris Records. Daniel Johnston
Daniel Dale Johnston (January 22, 1961 – September 11, 2019) was an American singer, musician and artist regarded as a significant figure in outsider, lo-fi, and alternative music scenes. Most of his work consisted of cassettes recorded alone in his home, and his music was frequently cited for its "pure" and "childlike" qualities. Johnston spent extended periods in psychiatric institutions and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He garnered a local following in the 1980s by passing out tapes of his music while working at a McDonald's in Dobie Center in Austin, Texas. His cult status was propelled when Nirvana's Kurt Cobain was seen wearing a T-shirt that featured artwork from Johnston's 1983 cassette album ''Hi, How Are You''. Johnston also created visual art, and his illustrations were exhibited at galleries around the world. A Million Billion
A Million Billion is an indie/electronica solo-project-turned-band from Brooklyn, New York. It was led by Ryan Ross Smith, a previous member of Stars Like Fleas and The Silent League. Laura Groves, (born 1987) an English musician originally from Shipley, West Yorkshire, England. Her debut album, '' Blue Roses'', was released in 2009 on XL Recordings under the alias ''Blue Roses''. Groves now lives in London and is releasing music under her own name. The Coral Sea is a California-based indie music project and moniker of singer, songwriter and composer Rey Villalobos. The music is atmospheric and ambient. Youthmovies (previously known as YMSS or Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies) were an English rock quintet active from 2002 to 2010. They comprised Andrew Mears (guitar and vocals), Al English (guitar), Graeme Murray (drums), Stephen Hammond (bass) and Sam Scott (brass and keys).
