David Lekuta Rudisha, State Commendations of Kenya, MBS (born 17 December 1988) is a retired Kenyan Middle-distance running, middle-distance runner who is the world and Olympic record holder in the 800 metres. Rudisha won gold medals in the 800 m at the Athletics at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2012 London and Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympic Games, where, at the former, he set the world record in the event with a time of 1:40.91. He is also a two-time World champion (2011 World Championships in Athletics, 2011 and 2015 World Championships in Athletics, 2015) and two-time Diamond League champion (2010 Diamond League, 2010 and 2011 Diamond League, 2011) in the 800 m. Elliot Levi Giles (born 26 May 1994) is an English middle-distance runner from Birmingham, specialising in the 800 metres. He won a bronze medal at the 2016 European Championships and holds the current road mile world record at 3:51.3. Career In August 2014, he had a serious motorcycle accident which prevented him from competing for two years. His breakthrough year was 2016 when he became British champion over the distance, and was selected for the senior GB team for the first time at the European Athletics Championships where he won a surprise bronze medal. His new personal best of 1:45.54, set in the final, qualified him for the 2016 Summer Olympics. In Rio de Janeiro, however, he only managed seventh place in his heat which was not good enough for a place in the semifinals. Pavel Maslák (, born 21 February 1991) is a Czech sprinter who specialises in the 200 metres and 400 metres. He is the only athlete in history who has won the 400 m title at the World Indoor Championships at three consecutive championships. Maslák is the first Czech to have run 400 metres under 45 seconds outdoor and under 46 seconds indoor. Personal life Pavel Maslák was born on 21 February 1991 in Havířov, Czechoslovakia. David Mark Everett (born September 2, 1968) is an American retired middle-distance runner who won the bronze medal in the 800-meter event at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo. The following year, Everett finished second in the US Olympic Trials in New Orleans behind Johnny Gray. A few weeks later Everett beat Gray at the Bislett Games in Oslo, setting a new personal best of 1:43.40. Everett and Gray went to Barcelona as favorites for the gold and silver medals. However, Everett did not finish the race and Gray won the Olympic bronze behind William Tanui and Nixon Kiprotich. Throughout his career, Everett was known for his finishing speed, a kicker, usually coming from behind on the final straightaway.
