Chrysler B Engine
The Chrysler B and RB engines are a series of V8 engine#Size, layout, and classification, big-block V8 gasoline engines introduced in 1958 to replace the Chrysler Hemi engine#First, Chrysler FirePower (first generation Hemi) engines. The B and RB engines are often referred to as "wedge" engines because they use wedge-shaped combustion chambers; this differentiates them from Chrysler's Chrysler Hemi engine#426, 426 Hemi big block engines that are typically referred to as "Hemi" or "426 Hemi" due to their hemispherical shaped combustion chambers. The corporation had been seeking a smaller and lighter replacement for its FirePower engines, in part because new styling dictates meant moving the engine forward in the chassis which negatively affected weight distribution. Design Design features of the B and RB engines include 17 capscrews per cylinder head, a cylinder block that extends below the crankshaft centerline, an intake manifold not exposed to crankcase oil on the underside, st ...

NGC 383
NGC 383 is a double radio galaxy with a quasar-like appearance located in the constellation Pisces. It was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel on 12 September 1784. It is listed as Arp 331 in Halton Arp's Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies. Recent discoveries by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in 2006 reveal that NGC 383 is being bisected by high energy relativistic jets traveling at relatively high fractions of the speed of light. The relativistic electrons in the jets are detected as synchrotron radiation in the x-ray and radio wavelengths. The focus of this intense energy is the galactic center of NGC 383. The relativistic electron jets detected as synchrotron radiation extend for several thousand parsecs and then appear to dissipate at the ends in the form of streamers or filaments. There are four other nearby galaxies NGC 379, NGC 380, NGC 385, and NGC 384 which are suspected of being closely associated with NGC 383, as well as several other ...

American Airlines Flight 383 (2016)
American Airlines Flight 383 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois to Miami International Airport. On October 28, 2016, the Boeing 767-300ER operating the flight suffered an engine fire during takeoff. The crew aborted their takeoff, evacuating everyone on board, and 21 occupants were injured. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair. The accident was caused by the rupture of a disk in the starboard engine, with one fragment piercing the fuel tank in the wing. The investigation revealed the need for more stringent directives for ultrasonic inspection of engines. Accident On October 28, 2016, the Boeing 767-300ER operating the flight (registered N345AN) was accelerating for takeoff on runway 28R when the aircraft's right engine suffered an uncontained failure that led to a severe fire. The crew managed to abort the takeoff and evacuate everyone on board, while emergency services extinguished the fire. Twenty-one peo ...
