35th Sumysky Regiment (Ukraine)
The 35th Separate Sumy, Sumysky Regiment is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with law enforcement and protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established in 1993 as the 11th Convoy Battalion. It's headquartered in Sumy and has seen combat during the Russo-Ukrainian war on multiple occasions and is currently deployed on the frontlines. History On 19 March 1993, the 11th convoy battalion was established in Kharkiv with Lieutenant Colonel Boris Germanovych Babintsev being appointed as it's commander. An armoured personnel carrier (APC) is a broad type of armoured military vehicle designed to transport personnel and equipment in combat zones. Since World War I, APCs have become a very common piece of military equipment around the world. The 4th Brigade of Operational Assignment named after Serhiy Mykhalchuk (), also known as the 4th Rapid Reaction Brigade "Rubizh" () is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine formed in 2016. The 18th Separate Mixed Brigade "Sloviansk" is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with law enforcement and protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established in 1992 as the 13th Regiment on the basis of the 26th battalion of the Internal Troops of the Soviet Union. It is currently headquartered in Sloviansk but was formerly located in Luhansk before its capture by separatist forces. Okhtyrka ( uk, Охти́рка, ) is a city located in the Sumy Oblast (province) of Ukraine. It is administratively incorporated as a city of oblast significance. The city has also served as the administrative center of the smaller Okhtyrka Raion since 1975, although it does not belong to the raion itself. Okhtyrka was once home to Hussars and Cossacks.
