35th Fighter Wing
The 35th Fighter Wing is an air combat unit of the United States Air Force and the host unit at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The wing (military aviation unit), wing is part of Pacific Air Forces (PACAF)'s Fifth Air Force. The wing was first activated in August 1948 at Johnson Air Base, Japan when PACAF implemented the Hobson Plan, wing base organization. It participated in the Korean War and later served in the air defense of Japan until inactivating in 1957. In 1966, the wing was again activated and served in combat in the Vietnam War until inactivating in 1972 with the withdrawal of US forces from Southeast Asia. It was soon reactivated at George Air Force Base, California, where it served until inactivating in 1992. It was activated the following year in Iceland as an air defense unit. With the drawdown of US forces in Iceland, the 35th Wing was inactivated on 1 October 1994 at Keflavik, but redesignated, reassigned, and reactivated as the 35th Fighter Wing at Misawa Air Base ...

35th Infantry Division (United States)
The 35th Infantry Division, formerly known as the 35th Division, is an infantry formation of the Army National Guard, United States Army National Guard headquartered at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The 35th Division was organized 25 August 1917, at Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma, as a unit of the National Guard (United States), National Guard, with troops from Missouri and Kansas.Clark, pp. 9-22. 35th Infantry Regiment (United States)
The 35th Infantry Regiment ("Cacti") was created on 1 July 1916 at Douglas, Arizona from elements of the 11th, 18th and 22nd Infantry Regiments. The 35th served on the Mexico–United States border, Mexico–US border during the First World War and was stationed at Nogales, Arizona, Nogales, Arizona in 1918. It fought a border skirmish on 27 August 1918 during the Battle of Ambos Nogales. In World War II, Korea, and Vietnam it served as part of the 25th Infantry Division (United States), 25th Infantry (Tropic Lightning) Division. As of 2012, the only active element of the regiment is the 2nd Battalion, which is assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Infantry), 25th Infantry Division (United States), 25th Infantry Division. Jones/Bronzeville, also known as 35th Street, is a station on Metra's Rock Island District line. It is located in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. It was named in honor of Lovana Jones who was an Illinois State Representative in the Bronzeville neighborhood. 35th–Bronzeville–IIT Station
35th–Bronzeville–IIT (formerly Tech–35th) is an 'L' station on the CTA's Green Line, located in the Douglas community area. It is situated at 16 E 35th Street, just east of State Street. History The station opened on June 6, 1892, along with the rest of the initial segment of the South Side Elevated Railroad. It is the oldest continuously operating station on the Chicago "L", being the only remaining station from the original opening. In October 1962, the station, then known as "Tech-35th", caught fire. The northbound platform was destroyed, and service between the adjacent Cermak and stations was suspended for four days. The station operated using temporary platforms until its renovation in 1965. Currently, the station serves the historic neighborhood of Bronzeville as well as the Illinois Institute of Technology campus, which is located immediately across State Street from the station. Sox–35th is an Chicago "L", 'L' station on the Chicago Transit Authority, CTA's Red Line (CTA), Red Line. It is situated at 142 West 35th Street in the Armour Square, Chicago, Armour Square neighborhood. The station opened on September 28, 1969, along with the other eight stations on the Dan Ryan branch. The station serves Rate Field, the stadium of the Chicago White Sox, and takes its name from this location, originally serving the now-demolished Comiskey Park (which was also known as "Sox Park" from 1962 until 1976, during the time of construction for Sox–35th), which had been located across the street from the current park. It is also close to the Illinois Institute of Technology and VanderCook College of Music, though (Green Line (CTA), Green Line) is closer to some parts of that campus.
