32nd Quebec Legislature
The 32nd National Assembly of Quebec was the provincial legislature in Quebec, Canada that was elected in the 1981 Quebec general election. It sat for a total of five sessions from May 19, 1981, to June 18, 1981; from September 30, 1981, to October 2, 1981; from November 9, 1981, to March 10, 1983; from March 23, 1983, to June 20, 1984; and from October 16, 1984, to October 10, 1985. The Parti Québécois government was led by Premier René Lévesque for most of the mandate, and by Pierre-Marc Johnson for a few months prior to the 1985 election. The Liberal opposition was led by Claude Ryan, by interim Liberal leader Gérard D. Levesque, and then by Robert Bourassa. Abitibi-Ouest is a provincial electoral district in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Amos, La Sarre, Macamic, Barraute, Palmarolle, Trécesson, Sainte-Germaine-Boulé and Dupuy. The riding was created for the 1944 election from a part of Abitibi. Bellechasse (provincial Electoral District)
Bellechasse is a provincial electoral riding in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada which elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes a section of the city of Lévis as well as Saint-Henri, Saint-Anselme, Lac-Etchemin, Sainte-Claire, Beaumont, Saint-Charles-de-Bellechasse, Saint-Raphaël and Saint-Gervais. Claude Lachance
Claude Lachance (born October 3, 1945) is a Canadian politician. He was a three-term Member of the National Assembly of Quebec. Early life Claude Lachance was born in the town of Saint-Nazaire-de-Dorchester, Quebec in 1945 to Leopold Lachance, a local mechanic, and Cécile Turgeon. He was educated at local schools in Saint-Nazaire-de-Dorchester before finishing his studies at Collège de Lévis. He later graduated with two degrees from Laval University, becoming a certified secondary school teacher. Lachance taught at Polyvalente St-Damien from 1970-1974, moving up the ranks to become school board president, and later head of the social studies department and assistant principal, a position he held until 1981. During this time, he served as a board member of the Lac-Etchemin Health and Social Services Center, later becoming chairman of the board for the organization. Beauharnois () is a provincial electoral district in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The district notably include the city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. It was created in 2001 from parts of Beauharnois-Huntingdon, Châteauguay and Salaberry-Soulanges. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged. An earlier version of the Beauharnois electoral district had been created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). Laurent Lavigne (politician)
Laurent Lavigne (10 August 1935 in Montreal, Quebec – 3 August 2017) was a member of the House of Commons of Canada from 1993 to 1997. His career has been in teaching and agriculture. He was elected in the Beauharnois—Salaberry electoral district under the Bloc Québécois party in the 1993 federal election, thus serving in the 35th Canadian Parliament. He did not seek a second term in office and therefore left Canadian politics following the 1997 federal election. Lavigne was also a member of the National Assembly of Quebec from 1976 to 1985 in Beauharnois. Adrien Ouellette (February 9, 1940 – September 2, 2023) was a Canadian politician.
