319th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company
The 319th Ordnance Company (EOD) soldiers are one of the United States Army National Guards pre-eminent tactical and technical explosives experts. The company is part of 96th Troop Command. Overview These soldiers are trained, equipped, and integrated to attack, defeat, and exploit unexploded ordnance (UXO), improvised explosive devices (IED), chemical, biological, and nuclear ordnance and weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Improvised Explosive Devices
An improvised explosive device (IED) is a bomb constructed and deployed in ways other than in conventional warfare, conventional military action. It may be constructed of conventional military explosives, such as an artillery shell, attached to a detonating mechanism. IEDs are commonly used as roadside bombs, or homemade bombs. Operation Allies Refuge was an evacuation effort carried out by the United States during the 2021 Taliban offensive. Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) was the official name used by the U.S. government for both the first stage (2001–2014) of the War in Afghanistan (2001–2021) and the larger-scale Global War on Terrorism.
