2011 Danmark Rundt
The 2011 in road cycling, 2011 Danmark Rundt was a men's road bicycle racing, road bicycle race held from 3 to 7 August 2011. It was the 21st edition of the men's stage race to be held, which was established in 1985. Australian rider Simon Gerrans of Team Sky captured the overall title. This was the 2nd Australian Post Danmark Rundt victory. Team Post Danmark
A team is a group of individuals (human or non-human) working together to achieve their goal. As defined by Professor Leigh Thompson of the Kellogg School of Management, " team is a group of people who are interdependent with respect to information, resources, knowledge and skills and who seek to combine their efforts to achieve a common goal". Cult Energy Pro Cycling () was a professional road bicycle racing team licensed in Denmark, that competed in the UCI Continental Circuits. It was established in 2000 under the name of "Cycling Horsens". On September 9, 2014, the team announced they had signed Linus Gerdemann from on a 2-year contract. On October 10, 2014, the team announced they had signed Gustav Larsson on a one-year contract In August 2015, the team seemed to secure its survival after gaining sponsorship from German company Stölting Group, which sponsored the Continental team Stölting in 2015. As a result, the teams planned to join forces, giving the necessary budget to ensure the team could stay in the Professional Continental tier for 2016. However, in December 2015, Cult announced they would exit the sport and no longer be able to fund the team. Riwal Cycling Team was a Danish UCI Continental cycling team based in Himmerland. Riwal participated in races in many countries around Europe. The team's most popular achievements have been the Danmark Rundt, the Olympia's Tour in the Netherlands and the Okolo Slovenska. The team had 10 full-time riders. Most of the team riders were Danish but also includes Swedish, Dutch and Norwegian members. The team had one sports manager and several freelancers. Theo Bos
Theo Bos (born 22 August 1983) is a Dutch former professional road and track cyclist. An Olympic silver medalist and five-time world champion, he is the brother of Olympic medalist in speed skating Jan Bos. On 29 November 2021, he announced his retirement from professional cycling and took up the job of coach of the Chinese national track team. Early life Bos was born in Hierden, Netherlands. Frederiksberg () is a part of the Capital Region of Denmark. It is an independent municipality, Frederiksberg Municipality, separate from Copenhagen Municipality, but both are a part of the region of Copenhagen. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. Frederiksværk
Frederiksværk is a town with a population of 12,837 (1 January 2025) in Halsnæs Municipality on Zealand in Region Hovedstaden in Denmark. History A French cannon founder, Peyrembert, received permission to build a cannon factory here. Having gotten into difficulties, King Frederik V requested that his chancellery advisor, Johan Frederik Classen, take over the operation of the foundry. Under Classen's management the town blossomed, and there came a gunpowder mill, as well as light industry and handicrafts to the town. This resulted in Classen's being appointed major general. On 25 August 1756 the king issued a document permitting Classen to call the town "Friederichswerk". Classen was allowed to build a new foundry, Gjethuset, and it was constructed between 1761 and 1767. It has been used as a cannon foundry until 1928, and has been used for heavy industry until 1976.
