2nd Signal Regiment (United Kingdom)
2 Signal Regiment is a signal regiment of the Royal Corps of Signals within the British Army. In November 2021, the 'Future Soldier reform' saw the regiment's two squadrons (214 & 219) re-role to provide brigade-level communications for the 4th Light Brigade Combat Team and 7th Light Mechanised Brigade Combat Team respectively. History The regiment can trace its history back to 2nd Company, The Telegraph Battalion, Royal Engineers. In 1907, it was designated as the Divisional Telegraph Company of the 2nd Infantry Division. During the Cold War, the regiment remained the divisional signals regiment of the 2nd Infantry Division. After the end of the Cold War, the regiment was designated as a support signals regiment within 11th Signal Brigade. Army 2020
Army 2020 is the restructuring of the British Army in the early and mid-2010s, in light of the Strategic Defence and Security Review 2010. University Officer Training Corps
The University Officers' Training Corps (UOTC), also known as the Officers' Training Corps (OTC), are British Army reserve units, under the command of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which recruit exclusively from universities and focus on training and developing leadership. Their role is to allow university students the opportunity to undertake modules of Reserve Officer training designed to fit around their degree and to develop the leadership abilities, skills and experience of their members, which could be useful in a future career in the British Army, or skills and training that can be utilised in a civilian career. 37th Signal Regiment (37 Sig Regt) is a military communications regiment of the Royal Corps of Signals, part of the British Army. History The regiment was formed as the 37th (Wessex and Welsh) Signal Regiment, Royal Signals (Volunteers) in 1967. It initially consisted of 43 (Wessex) Signal Squadron, 53 (Welsh) Signal Squadron and 57 (City & County of Bristol) Signal Squadron. 2nd Signal Brigade (United Kingdom)
The 2nd Signal Brigade (later 2nd Signal Group), was a military formation of the British Army composed of Royal Corps of Signals units. The brigade was first formed following the reorganisation of the old Territorial Army in 1967, and was disbanded in 2012 under the Army 2020 programme. However, later the 2nd Signal Group was formed continuing the lineage of the old brigade, before it was disbanded in 2018.
