Medical Brigade
In the United States Army, a medical brigade (MED BDE) is a unit providing command and control for assigned or attached medical units at Corps level. One MED BDE is typically assigned to one Army Corps and a typical Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment (HHD) for a MED BDE consists of about 65 personnel. Operations A MED BDE tasks and organizes its medical assets on the battlefield. It plans Health Service Support (HSS) operations and oversees logistical operations for the group's units. It serves as a radio control net for group units and performs medical regulation between group units. It also coordinates external support for group units. XV Corps (United States)
The XV Corps of the US Army was initially constituted on 1 October 1933 as part of the Organized Reserves, and was activated on 15 February 1943 at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana. During the Second World War, XV Corps fought for 307 days in the European Theater of Operations, fighting from Normandy through France and southern Germany into Austria. The corps was commanded in combat by Major General Wade H. Haislip, initially as a subordinate unit to the Third U.S. Army and later as part of the Seventh U.S. Army. After the end of the war the corps was inactivated and reactivated several times, finally being inactivated in 1968. 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support)
The 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support) (MC(DS)) is headquartered at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City, Utah and manages all the Army Reserve deployable field medical units west of Ohio. There are over 11,000 Soldiers that comprise 116 subordinate units in the command. The command is separated into five brigades. While the 3rd MCDS covers the MTOE Reserve medical units to the east and ARMEDCOM provides command and control for all the Table of Distribution and Allowance (TDA) medical units within CONUS. Units of the 807th MC(DS) provide general, surgical, dental, ambulance, behavioral health, preventive medicine, and veterinary support to Army units and to civilian populations. Meritorious Unit Citation
The Meritorious Unit Citation is a collective group decoration awarded to members of Australian military units. It recognises sustained outstanding service in warlike operations. The Meritorious Unit Citation was created in 1991, along with the Unit Citation for Gallantry. Description The insignia of a Meritorious Unit Citation is a rhodium plated sterling silver frame measuring , with a design of flames emanating from the edge to the centre. The frame surrounds a ribbon bar of old gold, which may display a rhodium plated, diameter, sterling silver Federation Star on its centre. Members attached to the unit when the citation is awarded wear it with the Federation Star, and continue to wear this after leaving the unit.
