''25 Jaar Na Waldolala'' is a compilation album of recordings by Dutch pop group Luv' released by Universal Music in the Netherlands in 2003. It features smash hits (such as " U.O.Me", "You're the Greatest Lover", " Casanova" or "Ooh, Yes I Do"), Spanish versions of four songs, previously unreleased tracks on CD and solo recordings by José Hoebee and Marga Scheide. History The two-disc compilation which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the release of breakthrough single " U.O.Me (Theme from Waldolala)" was a co-production between Universal Music Netherlands and the Luv' Fan Club in association with Hans van Hemert productions and CNR label. Luv'
Luv' were a Dutch girl group that scored a string of hit records in Continental Europe ( Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain, Denmark, Norway and Finland) as well as Israel, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Argentina and Mexico in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The original members were Patty Brard, José Hoebee and Marga Scheide. In 1979, Luv' was 'Holland's best export act' and thus received the Conamus Export Prize. The band sold more than seven million records worldwide (singles and albums). Among their greatest hits were: " U.O.Me (Welcome to Waldolala)", " You're the Greatest Lover", " Trojan Horse", " Casanova" and " Ooh, Yes I Do". "Ann-Maria" is a pop song, the tenth single to be released by the Dutch girl group Luv', released in early 1980 by Carrere Records. This song appears on the group's third studio album, True Luv'. A downtempo composition, the tune was a chart hit in both Benelux and Germany. Background When Luv' left Philips/Phonogram Records for CNR/Carrere Records in 1979, the trio hoped that its success story would go on. The single Ooh, Yes I Do became successful (even if it didn't reach the results of the million-sellers You're the Greatest Lover or Trojan Horse). The ballad Ann Maria was chosen as a follow-up single and used a Latin American orchestration inspired by ABBA's Chiquitita and Fernando as well as Boney M.'s El Lute. Phonogram Incorporated was started in 1970 as a successor to Philips Phonographic Industries, a unit of the Grammophon-Philips Group (GPG), a joint venture of Philips N.V. of the Netherlands and Siemens AG of Germany.
