22nd Goya Awards
The 22nd ceremony of the annual Goya Awards, took place at the Palacio de Congresos of the Campo de las Naciones in Madrid, Spain on February 3, 2008, presented by José Corbacho. On December 17, 2007, Juan Diego Botto and Ivana Baquero read the nominations on behalf of the Academy. The surprise winner of the night was '' Solitary Fragments'' by Jaime Rosales which won the Goya for best film and best direction. '' Las 13 rosas'' started with fourteen nominations and won four, while '' El Orfanato'', initially a favourite, won seven Goyas but none in the major category. IFEMA Palacio Municipal
The IFEMA Palacio Municipal, formerly known as Palacio Municipal de Congresos, is a convention centre in Madrid, Spain. It is located near the IFEMA's main fairground complex in the Campo de las Naciones area. It is operated by IFEMA since 2019. ''The Orphanage'' () is a 2007 Gothic supernatural horror film directed by J. A. Bayona in his directorial full-length debut. The film stars Belén Rueda as Laura, Fernando Cayo as her husband, Carlos, and Roger Príncep as their adopted son Simón. The plot centers on Laura, who returns to her childhood home, an orphanage. Laura plans to turn the house into a home for disabled children, but after an argument with Simón, he goes missing. The film is an international co-production between Spain and Mexico. Alfredo Landa Areta MML (3 March 19339 May 2013) was a Spanish actor. Biography He was born in Pamplona, Navarre. He finished his pre-university studies in Donostia-San Sebastián. He then began university studies in law, where he began to work with university school groups. He left university to work in the theater. After working as a dubbing actor for a short time in the 1950s, he debuted with his first considerable role in film in José María Forqué's '' Atraco a las tres'' in 1962. When dictator Franco died in 1975, censorship began to disappear. This led to the growth of erotic comedies in Spanish cinema. Landa became the "sexually repressed" role of that trend, especially under directors Mariano Ozores and Pedro Lazaga. He even created his own trend, that some people called ''landismo''.
