Harold L. "Trey" Stewart III (born February 7, 1994) is an American politician from Maine. Stewart, a Republican from Presque Isle, has represented District 2 in the Maine Senate since 2020 when he defeated Democratic incumbent Michael E. Carpenter. 2022 Maine Gubernatorial Election
The 2022 Maine gubernatorial election took place on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Maine. Incumbent Democratic governor Janet Mills won re-election to a second term, defeating Republican nominee and former governor, Paul LePage. Neither candidate faced any primary opposition. An independent candidate, Sam Hunkler, received 2% of the vote, the lowest total for a third party or independent gubernatorial candidate in the state since 1982. This was the first gubernatorial election in Maine since 1990 in which the winner was from the same party as the incumbent president. Paul Richard LePage (; born October 9, 1948) is an American businessman and politician who served as the 74th governor of Maine from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the mayor of Waterville, Maine, from 2004 to 2011 and as a city councilor for Waterville from 1998 to 2002. The voting members represent an equal number of districts across the state and are elected via plurality voting.
