2025–26 Promotion League
The 2025–26 Promotion League season (known as the Hoval Promotion League for sponsorship reasons) is the 14th edition (12th under its current name) of the 3rd tier of the Swiss football league system under its current format. Overview Eighteen teams competed in the league, consisting of the teams in positions 2 to 16 from the previous season, one team relegated from the 2024–25 Swiss Challenge League and two teams who were promoted from the 2024–25 Swiss 1. Promotion League
The Promotion League, named the Hoval Promotion League for sponsorship reasons, is the third tier of the Swiss football league system. Eighteen clubs compete in the league, playing each other twice over course of the season. The champions are promoted to the second tier, the Challenge League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the 1st League Classic. The league forms the semi-professional bridge to amateur football. Overview Eighteen teams play each other twice, once home and once away, for a total of 34 games. The season begins in August and ends in May, interrupted through a winter break from late November to early March. The team finishing in first place—subject to license requirements of professional football—will be promoted to the division above, in turn the last-placed team of the second division will be relegated for the following season. Youth Campus Basel
The Stiftung Nachwuchs Campus Basel, in English foundation Youth Campus Basel, was established by Gigi Oeri in 2010. It was designed to foster the continuous development of FC Basel’s youth division. The foundation is officially registered with the Swiss company register. The foundation constructed and currently manages the campus facilities, oversees the renovation and operations of ''Wohnhuus'', and provides support in the administration of the youth department. Its primary objective is to facilitate the comprehensive training and advancement of young football talents. FC Basel's youth department has garnered acclaim for its success. Stadion Rankhof
Stadion Rankhof is a football stadium in Basel, Switzerland. It has a capacity of 7,600 with 1,000 seats and 6,600 standing places. The record attendance of the original stadium was about 30,000 spectators. The stadium was rebuilt between 1993 and 1995. The stands face south towards the grass pitch. The north side of the stadium is completely constructed of glass to protect against the wind. The dimension of the pitch is 100 x 64 metres. It has a grass surface and flood-lighting. The second pitch, north of the stands, is the same size and also has flood-lighting. Rankhof has four training and one synthetic pitch, this also has flood-lights. Canton of Basel-Stadt or Basel-City ( ; ; ; ) is one of the 26 cantons forming the Swiss Confederation. It is composed of three municipalities with Basel as the capital.
