2025 Vuelta A Asturias
The 2025 Vuelta Asturias Julio Alvarez Mendo was a road cycling stage race that took place between 24 and 27 April 2025 in the Asturias region of northwestern Spain. It was the 67th edition of the Vuelta a Asturias and was part of the 2025 UCI Europe Tour calendar as a category 2.1 event. Teams Two UCI WorldTeams, five UCI ProTeams, seven UCI Continental, and the Spanish national team made up the fifteen teams that participated in the race. There were a total of 104 riders that started the race. 2025 UCI Europe Tour
The 2025 UCI Europe Tour is the 21st season of the UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points were awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Castropol
Castropol is a municipality in Asturias, Spain. It is also the name of a Parroquia (Spain), parish within the municipality and a town within the parish. The municipality of Castropol has a population of 3696 (Instituto Nacional de Estadística de España, INE, 2014). It is bounded on the north by the Cantabrian Sea and on the west by a coastal inlet, or ''ria'', which separates it from the municipality of Ribadeo in Galicia (Spain), Galicia, called the river Eo. To the west it is bordered by Tapia de Casariego, by El Franco, Boal and other Asturian municipalities, and to the south by Vegadeo and Villanueva de Oscos. Steff Cras (born 13 February 1996) is a Belgian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career In August 2019 he rode the 2019 Vuelta a España. In October 2019 Cras had been announced to join on an initial two-year deal following the demise of his current team . In August 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Tour de France. This was his first ever Tour, his job was to ride in support of Caleb Ewan who was aiming for the Green Points Jersey. The 2021 Volta a Catalunya was a race where COVID-19 was rampant, Cras caught COVID and had to abandon the race before the last stage. After two years at Cras announced a one-year contract extension to remain with the team till the end of 2022. On 17 August 2022 it was announced that Cras would join for two seasons from 2023. Cras started in the 2022 Vuelta a España but crashed heavily in Stage 2 so did not finish the stage and pulled out of the race. Llanes
Llanes (the ''Concejo de Llanes'', ''Conceyu de Llanes'' in Asturian language) is a municipality of the province of Asturias, in northern Spain. Stretching for about 30 km along the coast at the extreme east of the province, Llanes is bounded to the south by the high ridge of the limestone Sierra del Cuera, which rises to over 1,100 m.
