2025 Tour Of The Basque Country
The 2025 Tour of the Basque Country (officially known as Itzulia Basque Country 2025) was a road bicycle racing, road cycling cycling stage race, stage race that took place between 7 and 12 April in the Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque region in northern Spain. It was the 64th edition of the Tour of the Basque Country and the 15th race of the 2025 UCI World Tour. 2025 UCI World Tour
The 2025 UCI World Tour is a series of races that includes thirty-six events throughout the 2025 in men's road cycling, 2025 cycling season. The tour started with the 2025 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 21 January, and will conclude with the 2025 Tour of Guangxi, Tour of Guangxi on 19 October. Events The race calendar for the 2025 season was announced in June 2024, with thirty-six races scheduled. The calendar was similar to 2024 UCI World Tour, 2024, with a new one-day race in Denmark, the Copenhagen Sprint. In October 2024, the final calendar was confirmed. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. Individual time trials are usually held on flat or rolling terrain, although sometimes they are held up a mountain road (in Italian: ''cronoscalata'' "chrono climbing"). Markina-Xemein is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, Bizkaia, in the Basque Autonomous Community, also known as the Basque Country, located in northern Spain. Zarautz (, ) is a coastal town located in central Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, in Spain. Caleb Ewan (born 11 July 1994) is an Australian road and track bicycle racer who rode for UCI WorldTeam . A sprinter, Ewan has a style similar to that of Mark Cavendish, taking an extremely low position that offers him an aerodynamic advantage. Career Youth Caleb Ewan was born in New South Wales to a Korean mother and Australian father.
