The 2025 Qatar TotalEnergies Open is a professional women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It is the 23rd edition of the WTA Qatar Open, and a WTA 1000 tournament on the 2025 WTA Tour. It takes place at the International Tennis and Squash complex in Doha, Qatar, from 9 to 15 February 2025. WTA 1000 Tournaments
The WTA 1000 tournaments are a category of tennis tournaments on the WTA Tour, governed by the Women's Tennis Association. The old WTA Premier tournaments, WTA Premier Mandatory and Premier 5 tournaments merged into a single highest tier implemented in the 2021 schedule reorganization. Until 2024, only four of the nine WTA 1000 tournaments were mandatory, when the category expanded to ten mandatory tournaments. When launched in 2021, the prize money for winning a WTA 1000 tournament was approximately $1,000,000. This has since risen to almost $9,000,000 at some tournaments as of 2024. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 1,000. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 500 points for winning a WTA 500 tournament, and 250 for winning a WTA 250 tournament. Hsieh Su-wei (; ; born 4 January 1986) is a Taiwanese professional tennis player. A former List of WTA number 1 ranked doubles tennis players, world No. 1 in Doubles tennis, doubles with nine Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam titles, she is regarded as one of the most successful and versatile doubles players in history. Peyton Mckenzie Stearns (born October 8, 2001) is an American professional tennis player. She has been ranked by the WTA as high as No. 28 in singles, achieved on 19 May 2025, and No. 62 in doubles, achieved on 5 May 2025. She has won one WTA Tour singles title, and five singles and two doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. She played college tennis for the Texas Longhorns. Bethanie Mattek-Sands ( Bethanie Lynn Mattek; born March 23, 1985) is an American professional tennis player. She has won nine Grand Slam titles (five in women's doubles and four in mixed doubles), and an Olympic gold medal, and is a former world No. 1 in doubles.
