2025 Prefontaine Classic
The 2025 Prefontaine Classic was the 50th edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was held on 5 July May at Hayward Field, it was the 9th leg of the 2025 Diamond League – the highest-level international track and field circuit. Diamond+ results Starting in 2025 a new discipline of events was added called Diamond+, these 4 events per meet awarded athletes with increased prize money whilst keeping the standard points format to qualify for the Diamond league finals. First place earns 8 points, with each step down in place earning one less point than the previous, until no points are awarded in 9th place or lower. In the case of a tie, each tying athlete earns the full amount of points for the place. Jeremiah Azu (born 15 May 2001) is a Welsh sprinter. He is the 2025 European Indoor Champion and 2025 World Indoor Champion over 60 metres. In 2024, he became the first Welshman to run the 100 metres in under 10 seconds in wind-legal conditions. Stefan Nillessen (born 2 January 2003) is a Dutch middle-distance runner. In 2024, he won the Dutch Athletics Championships over 1500 metres, and also won over that distance at the Dutch Indoor Athletics Championships in 2025. Neil Gourley
Neil Gourley (born 7 February 1995) is a Scottish middle-distance runner specialising in the 1500 metres. He won the silver medal in the event at both the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships and the 2023 European Indoor Championships and bronze at the 2015 European Under-23 Championships. Festus Lagat (born 10 October 1996) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner. Early life From Eldoret, Kenya, he is the eldest of three boys. Hobbs Kessler (born March 15, 2003) is an American middle-distance runner. He competes professionally for Adidas, having turned professional directly after high school. He holds the North American U20 record in the 1500 meters, having run 3:34.36 in 2021 during his senior year in high school. Grant Jackson Fisher (born April 22, 1997) is an American middle- and long-distance runner who is the world record holder in the short track 3000 m and 5000 m. Timothy Cheruiyot (born 20 November 1995) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner specialising in the 1500 metres. Cameron Myers (born 9 June 2006) is an Australian track and field athlete. In 2023, he broke the world record for the fastest mile by a sixteen year-old, and became the second youngest person in the world to ever have run a sub-four minute mile.
