The 2025 Philippine local elections in the Zamboanga Peninsula are scheduled to be held on May 12, 2025. Sulu Governor of Sulu Incumbent Abdusakur Mahail Tan (Lakas–CMD) is running for vice governor. 2025 Philippine Local Elections
Local elections in the Philippines will take place on May 12, 2025. These will be conducted together with the 2025 general election for national positions. All elected positions above the barangay level will be contested. The following 18,191 positions will be contested: * All 82 provincial governorships and vice-governorships * 792 provincial board members (regular Sangguniang Panlalawigan members) * All 149 mayorships and vice mayorships in cities * 1,682 city councilors (regular Sangguniang Panlungsod members) * All 1,493 mayorships and vice mayorships in municipalities * 11,948 municipal councilors (regular Sangguniang Bayan members) Elections for the Bangsamoro Parliament was originally synchronized with the local elections, but was postponed to October 2024. The Zamboanga City Council (Chavacano: ''Consejo de la Ciudad de Zamboanga'') is Zamboanga City's Sangguniang Panlungsod or local legislature. Currently composed of 19 members, with 16 councilors elected from Zamboanga City's two legislative districts and three (3) ''ex-officio'' members composed of the: (1) President of the ''Liga ng mga Barangay ng Lungsod ng Zamboanga'' (English: League of Barangays of the City of Zamboanga); (2) the ''President of the Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan'' (English: Federation of Youth Councils); and (3) the Mandatory Representative of the indigenous peoples in Zamboanga City. Victor Yu
Victor Jo Yu is a Filipino politician who currently serves as Governor of Zamboanga del Sur. He previously served as the representative of the first district of Zamboanga del Sur in the 14th, 15th and 16th Congress of the Philippines. He signed the House Resolution 1109 calling for a constituent assembly to amend the Constitution. Zamboanga Del Norte Provincial Board
The Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Board is the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial legislature) of the Philippine province of Zamboanga del Norte. The members are elected via plurality-at-large voting: the province is divided into three districts, the first district sending two members, and the second and third districts sending four members each to the provincial board; the number of candidates the electorate votes for and the number of winning candidates depends on the number of members their district sends.
