2025 PWHL Expansion Draft
The 2025 PWHL Draft was the third annual draft in Professional Women's Hockey League history, and took place on June 24, 2025, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Kristýna Kaltounková was selected first overall by the New York Sirens. Eligibility The declaration period for the draft opened on March 1, 2024, and closed on May 8. Undrafted players will become free agents; players must declare for the draft to reach free agency. Selected players may re-enter the draft if they are not signed to their draft club after two years. No player may declare for more than two drafts. Players ineligible to play in the 2025–26 season are not eligible to be selected. On May 15, 2025, the PWHL released the full list of eligible players. In total, 199 eligible players declared for the draft, of which 117 were forwards, 56 were defenders, and 26 were goaltenders. The Clarkson Golden Knights women's hockey team is an NCAA Division I ice hockey team that represents Clarkson University in rural Potsdam, New York. Kendall Cooper (born May 19, 2002) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman for the Minnesota Frost of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college ice hockey at Quinnipiac. Playing career College Cooper began her collegiate career for Quinnipiac during the 2020–21 season, where she recorded four goals and five assists in 14 games. Anne Cherkowski
Anne Cherkowski (born July 6, 2002) is a Canadian college ice hockey forward for Clarkson. She previously played for Minnesota. Early life Cherkowski was born to Kevin and Sabre Cherkowski, and has a brother, Nicholas. She attended George Elliot Secondary School and played ice hockey for Pursuit of Excellence Academy and won consecutive CSSHL championships in grades 10 and 11. During her four years at Pursuit of Excellence she recorded 85 goals and 80 assists in 85 regular season games. She was named CSSHL Female Prep Freshman of the Year in 2018. Swedish Women's Hockey League
The Swedish Women's Hockey League (), abbreviated SDHL, is the elite league for women's ice hockey in Sweden. It was established in 2007 as the by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and was renamed prior to the 2016–17 season. The league has ten teams and employs a system of promotion and relegation with the Nationella Damhockeyligan (NDHL). The unexpected withdrawal of Göteborg HC after playing only thirteen games of the 2022–23 season caused the number of teams to decrease to nine for the remainder of that season. Bodychecking was allowed for the 2022–23 season and goal cameras were introduced for the 2024–2025 season. Frölunda HC are an ice hockey team in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). They play in the Västra Frölunda borough of Gothenburg, Sweden at Frölundaborg. Michelle Karvinen
Michelle Karvinen (born 27 March 1990) is a Danish-Finnish ice hockey player for Frölunda HC Dam of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) and member of the Finnish national team. Karvinen has been described as "the world's best technical player" and she is considered one of the best currently active ice hockey forwards. With the Finnish national team, she has won three Olympic bronze medals and six IIHF Women's World Championship medals, five bronze and one silver. The Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey program represents Cornell University and participates in Division I collegiate hockey in the ECAC Hockey conference. They play at the Lynah Rink in Ithaca, New York. Rory Susanna Guilday (born September 7, 2002) is an American college ice hockey defenceman for Cornell and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Early life Guilday attended Minnetonka High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota, where she was a two-time captain, and twice earning all-state, all-conference and all-Metro team honors. The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey team plays for the University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis. Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Natálie Mlýnková (born 24 May 2001) is a Czech ice hockey player for Minnesota of the NCAA Division I and a member of the Czech Republic women's national ice hockey team. Playing career College Mlýnková played college ice hockey for Vermont. During the 2023–24 season, she led Hockey East in points, and recorded 26 points on a league-best 15 goals and 11 assists in 27 conference games.
