2025 Outrigger Challenge Cup
The 2025 Outrigger Challenge Cup will be an international association football tournament organized by the Marshall Islands Soccer Federation, and hosted in Springdale, Arkansas from 11 August to 17 August 2025. Four teams will take part in the tournament. Background The federation crowdfunded 20,000 pounds to fund for the tournament. The four teams that will participate in the tournament are Ozark United FC U19, the Marshall Islands, Turks and Caicos, and the U.S. Virgin Islands The United States Virgin Islands, officially the Virgin Islands of the United States, are a group of Caribbean islands and a territory of the United States. Lloyd Owers
Lloyd Owers is a UEFA-licensed football coach and the current technical director for the Marshall Islands Soccer Federation (MISF), which he has held since December 2022. He previously served in various coaching roles in Canada, Sweden, and the United States. Career Owers began his football career playing semi-professionally in England until he was 24, also working as a coach since he was 16. He stopped playing to focus on the coaching side of the game, he worked within various levels of coaching. Owers worked with The Football Association full time, as well as scouting roles at Mansfield Town, Colchester United, and Chelmsford City. 2024 Outrigger Challenge Cup
The 2024 Outrigger Challenge Cup was an international futsal tournament organized by the Marshall Islands Soccer Federation, and was hosted in Majuro from 22 to 24 July 2024. Six teams took part in the tournament. The tournament was originally announced as the Men's Futsal Series, to be played against Micronesia, but after Kiribati's participation was announced, the name was officially changed to the Outrigger Challenge Cup. The Marshall Islands played its first-ever international of any football code during the tournament, while Micronesia fielded its first-ever national futsal side. Kiribati defeated the Marshall Islands in the final.
