The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize is an international peace prize established according to Alfred Nobel's will that will be announced in October 2025 by the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo, Norway, and awarded on 10 December 2025. Candidates Though nominations are strictly kept a secret, several Norwegian parliamentarians and other academics are privileged to publicly announce their preferred candidates simply to raise publicity both for the nominee and the nominator. On 5 March 2025, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that there are 338 candidates nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, of which 244 are individuals and 94 are organizations. Tonyee Chow Hang-tung (; born 24 January 1985) is a Hong Kong activist, barrister and politician. During the crackdown by authorities on the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, which began in June 2021 and was mainly based on national security charges over the Alliance's annual vigils in remembrance of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre, Chow was cast into the limelight, having become the convenor of the group after the arrest of leaders Lee Cheuk-yan and Albert Ho in April. Jeff Halper (; born 1946) is an Israeli-American anthropologist, author, lecturer, and political activist who has lived in Israel since 1973. He is the Director of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and a co-founder of The One Democratic State Campaign (ODSC). He is a Jewish Israeli.
