2025 Mérida Open – Singles
Emma Navarro defeated Emiliana Arango in the final, 6–0, 6–0 to win the singles title at the 2025 Mérida Open. She did not drop a set en route to her second WTA Tour title and first WTA 500 title. She became the fifth player to win a WTA final with a 'double bagel' scoreline since 2000, and the first since Iga Świątek defeated Karolína Plíšková at the 2021 Italian Open. Zeynep Sönmez was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Navarro. Emma Navarro (born May 18, 2001) is an American professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 8 by the WTA, achieved on September 9, 2024 and a best doubles ranking of No. 93, set in 2024. Navarro has won two singles titles on the WTA Tour, and reached a major semifinal at the 2024 US Open. Navarro played college tennis at the University of Virginia and won the NCAA Singles Championship in 2021, later becoming the first women's singles NCAA champion to reach the US Open semifinals.
