2025 MPBL Finals
The MPBL national finals or MPBL finals is the annual championship series of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The North and South Division champions compete in a best-of-five series to determine the league champion. The MPBL finals is structured in a 2–2–1 format, where the first two games and, if necessary, the fifth and final game are hosted by the team with homecourt advantage, being the team with the better regular season record. Five teams have won the MPBL finals with the Pampanga Giant Lanterns being the only team to win two titles, having won the most recent series in 2024. Since the introduction of divisions in the 2018–19 season, the North Division claimed four of the five titles. 2022 MPBL Finals
The 2022 MPBL finals was the championship series of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League's (MPBL) 2022 season and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. In the best-of-five playoff, the North Division champion Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards defeated the South Division champion Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines, as they won the league's fourth championship. Byron Villarias named as the season's Finals MVP. First-seeded Nueva Ecija (21–0) held homecourt advantage for the series, having a better record than Zamboanga (18–3). This marks the first finals appearance for both teams. This was the first finals series in which neither team is based in Metro Manila. Jhonard Clarito
Jhonard Clarito (born April 3, 1996) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Amateur career San Juan Knights (2018–2021) Coming off a college career with De Ocampo Memorial College, Clarito joined the expansion San Juan Knights of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Averaging 4.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in the 2018–19 MPBL season, he played an important role in the winner-take-all game 5 of the 2019 MPBL finals. Quezon Huskers
The Quezon Huskers are a Filipino professional basketball team based in Lucena, a highly urbanized city in the province of Quezon. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. The team splits its home games between Quezon Convention Center and Lucena Convention Center. The team's first incarnation was the Quezon Coco Huskers of the United Regional Basketball League (URBL). The team ran from 2004 until 2005. The Huskers were then revived as an expansion team for the MPBL's 2023 season alongside the Negros Muscovados. Bacoor City Strikers
The Bacoor City Strikers were a Filipino professional basketball team, based in Bacoor, Cavite. The team last competed in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and played their home games at Strike Gymnasium. The Strikers also previously shared the province of Cavite with the team now known as the Imus Braderhood. Owned by the Local Government of Bacoor, the team joined the league in the 2018–19 season, becoming the second team based in Cavite after the Imus Bandera. 2023 MPBL Finals
The 2023 MPBL finals was the championship series of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League's (MPBL) 2023 season and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. In the best-of-five playoff, the North Division champion Pampanga Giant Lanterns faced the South Division champion Bacoor City Strikers, with both teams having not won an MPBL title nor appeared in the MPBL finals before, this series would determine which team becomes the league's fifth different champions. The series began on November 25, 2023 and ended on December 2, 2023. Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines
The Zamboanga Sikat (stylized as Zamboanga SiKAT), alternatively known as Sikat Zamboanga, is a Filipino professional basketball team based in Zamboanga City. The team currently competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. The team plays its home games at Mayor Vitaliano D. Agan Coliseum. 2022 Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards Season
The 2022 Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards season was the second season of the franchise in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The Rice Vanguards sought to improve from their previous 10–20 campaign. On July 5, they would play in their inaugural home game, in which they would equalize their previous season's record in win percentage. They would then surpass that with their eighth win on July 12. Showing dominance across the board, the 2022 Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards became the first team in league history to achieve a regular season sweep. Mark Yee
Mark Yee (born January 4, 1982) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Abra Solid North Weavers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). A two-time Philippine Basketball Association champion, Yee has seen much success after joining the MPBL in 2018, where he won Finals MVP with the Davao Occidental Tigers in 2021. He is also the only player in MPBL history to notch two Defensive Player of the Year awards. He also has three all-star selections on top of his two appearances in the All-MPBL First Team.
