2025 Laguna Local Elections
Local elections were held in Laguna (province), Laguna on May 12, 2025, as part of the 2025 Philippine general election. Voters will elect candidates for all local positions: a town mayor, vice mayor and town council, as well as members of the Laguna Provincial Board, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the vice governor, governor, and representatives for the Legislative districts of Laguna, four districts of Laguna, and the lone districts of Biñan's at-large congressional district, Biñan, Calamba's at-large congressional district, Calamba, and Santa Rosa's at-large congressional district, Santa Rosa. Gubernatorial election The incumbent governor is Ramil Hernandez, who was reelected for a third consecutive term in 2022 Laguna local elections, 2022, defeating his main challenger Representative Sol Aragones with 57.60% of the vote. Marisol "Sol" Castillo Aragones Sampelo (born November 7, 1977) is a Filipino politician and former journalist who is the Governor of Laguna, governor-elect of Laguna, having been 2025 Laguna local elections, elected in 2025. She previously served as the representative of Laguna's 3rd congressional district, Laguna's third district from 2013 to 2022. Before entering politics, she worked as a news presenter for ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs, ABS-CBN from 1998 to 2012. Early life and education Marisol Castillo Aragones was born on November 6, 1977, in San Pablo, Laguna, to Rolando Aragones, a tricycle driver, and Nora Castillo, a baker. She attended secondary school in Canossa College in San Pablo, Laguna, where she was a student leader.
