2025 GT4 Australia
The 2025 GT4 Australia Series (commercially titled 2025 Monochrome GT4 Australia Series) was an Australian motorsport competition for GT4 cars. The championship is the 2nd season of a standalone GT4 Australia series having split from the Australian Production Car Series at the end of 2023, and is the second season of the championship being solely managed by the SRO Motorsports Group. The season will start on 4 April at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and will end on 2 November at the Hampton Downs Motorsport Park. Calendar The provisional six-race calendar was released on 28 June 2024 with 5 rounds to take place in Australia and 1 round to take place in New Zealand. 2025 GT World Challenge Australia
The 2025 GT World Challenge Australia Powered by Amazon Web Services, AWS is an Australian motor sport competition for Group GT3, GT3 cars. This will be the second season since the Stephane Ratel Organisation, SRO Motorsports Group took over sole management of the series. The season will start at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Philip Island on the 4–6 April and finish at Hampton Downs in New Zealand on October 31–November 2. Calendar The provisional six-round calendar was announced at the 2024 SRO Press conference at the 24 Hours of Spa. For the first time the series will have a media day at Phillip Island. On 18 October, the calendar was updated, in which the Queensland round was shifted to June and the championship will return to Sandown Raceway after 3 years. A V8 engine is an eight- cylinder piston engine in which two banks of four cylinders share a common crankshaft and are arranged in a V configuration. McLaren M838T Engine
The McLaren M838T engine is a 90-degree twin-turbocharged flat-plane V8, designed and developed in collaboration with Ricardo plc. Development McLaren bought the rights to the Tom Walkinshaw Racing developed engine, itself based on the Nissan VRH engine architecture, which was designed for the IRL Indycar championship but never raced. However, other than the bore, little of that engine remains in the M838T. In only 18 months, Ricardo went from a modified Nissan engine design to a running prototype. Developed with help from Ricardo, the engine redlines at 8500 rpm, but 80% of the engine's torque is available as low as 2000 rpm. McLaren claims that the engine has the highest horsepower to emission ratio of any current production engine. Flat-six Engine
A flat-six engine, also known as a horizontally opposed-six, is a six-cylinder piston engine with three cylinders on each side of a central crankshaft. The most common type of flat-six engine is the boxer-six engine, where each pair of opposed cylinders moves inwards and outwards at the same time. The advantages of the flat-six layout are good engine balance (for reduced vibration), a low center of gravity, short length (compared with an inline-six engine) and being well suited to air-cooling. The disadvantages are a large width (which can limit the maximum steering angle when used in a front-engined car), a large intake manifold being required when a central carburetor is used, and duplication of the inlet and outlet connections for water-cooled engines.
