2025 GT World Challenge America
The 2025 GT World Challenge America Powered by Amazon Web Services, AWS will be the nineteenth season of the United States Auto Club's GT World Challenge America, and the eighth under ownership of Stephane Ratel Organisation, SRO Motorsports Group. The season will begin at Sonoma Raceway, Sonoma on March 28, and will end at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis on October 18. Calendar The preliminary calendar released on June 26, 2024, at the SRO Motorsports Group, SRO's annual 24 Hours of Spa press conference, featuring 14 races across seven rounds. On August 6, 2024, the calendar was finalized, and the date of Indianapolis round was pushed back two weeks. Loek Hartog (born 5 October 2002) is a Dutch racing driver competing in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the Porsche Carrera Cup North America. Career Porsche competition After making a brief cameo in karting, in the BNL Golden Trophy, Hartog began his full time racing debut in the 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, where he finished in third, picking up two wins, four pole positions and eight podiums, with Bas Koeten Racing. Riley Dickinson (born May 10, 2002) is an American racing driver who competes in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America. Career Early career Dickinson began his karting career at age seven, electing to cease playing baseball in favor of a potential career on four wheels. Flat-six Engine
A flat-six engine, also known as a horizontally opposed-six, is a six-cylinder piston engine with three cylinders on each side of a central crankshaft. The most common type of flat-six engine is the boxer-six engine, where each pair of opposed cylinders moves inwards and outwards at the same time. The advantages of the flat-six layout are good engine balance (for reduced vibration), a low center of gravity, short length (compared with an inline-six engine) and being well suited to air-cooling. The disadvantages are a large width (which can limit the maximum steering angle when used in a front-engined car), a large intake manifold being required when a central carburetor is used, and duplication of the inlet and outlet connections for water-cooled engines. The Porsche 982 is the internal designation of the fourth generation Boxster/Cayman (third generation Cayman) made by German automobile manufacturer Porsche. Mike David Ortmann (born 26 October 1999 in Brandenburg) is a German racing driver. Career Karting Ortmann began karting in 2010 at the age of eleven, competing in championships across Germany and taking titles in the championship at East Saxon State and the East German ADAC Kart Cup in 2012. A V8 engine is an eight- cylinder piston engine in which two banks of four cylinders share a common crankshaft and are arranged in a V configuration. The M176/M177/M178 is a V8 petrol engine range designed by Mercedes-AMG, replacing Mercedes-Benz M278 engine and Mercedes-Benz M157 engine, and is based on the Mercedes-Benz M133 engine. The engine has two BorgWarner turbochargers positioned between the two cylinder heads in a "hot-V" configuration. The fuel injection system uses Bosch's new piezo-electric direct fuel injectors that deliver five squirts of fuel per combustion cycle.
