2025 Evansville Purple Aces Baseball Team
The 2025 Evansville Purple Aces baseball team represents the University of Evansville during the 2025 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Purple Aces play their home games at Charles H. Braun Stadium. Previous season The Purple Aces finished the 2024 season with a trip to the NCAA Knoxville Super Regional, winning one out of three games before being eliminated. Before that, Evansville won its first-ever NCAA Regional title while also winning the MVC Tournament. For the season, Evansville compiled a record of 39–26 and finished third in the MVC with a 17–10 mark. Wes Carroll (baseball)
Wesley Clint Carroll (born January 5, 1979) is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach of the Evansville Purple Aces baseball team. He has held that position since the 2009 season. He played at Evansville, becoming the Purple Aces' first ever Freshman All-American. He then went on to a minor league career, reaching Triple-A and playing in spring training games with his brother Jamey Carroll. He then became an assistant coach with the Purple Aces for three seasons before ascending to the top job. Playing career Evansville Carroll joined the Aces in 1998 and led the team in hits (88) and assists (147) as a freshman. He earned '' Collegiate Baseball'' Freshman All-American Honorable Mention honors after the season, marking the first time in Evansville history that a player was named a Freshman All-American. NCAA Transfer Portal
The NCAA transfer portal is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) application, database, and compliance tool created to manage and facilitate the process for student athletes seeking to transfer between member institutions. It is intended to bring greater transparency to the transfer process and to enable student athletes to publicize their desire to transfer. The transfer portal is an NCAA-wide database covering all three NCAA divisions, although most media coverage of the transfer portal involves its use in the top-level DivisionI (D-I). Benet Academy
Benet Academy ( ) is a private, highly competitive, co-educational, college-preparatory, Benedictine high school in Lisle, Illinois, United States, overseen by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet in Illinois, Diocese of Joliet. Founded in 1886, the school was initially established in Chicago as the all-boys St. Procopius College and Academy by Benedictine monks, who also operated the St. Joseph Bohemian Orphanage. In 1898, the orphanage moved to Lisle, about west of Chicago, to be joined by St. Procopius three years later. In 1926, Benedictine nuns constructed the all-girls Sacred Heart Academy near the orphanage and school in Lisle. Ankeny High School
Ankeny High School is a public high school located in Ankeny, Iowa, United States. It is part of the Ankeny Community School District, and serves grades 10 through 12. History AHS opened in 1913 and graduated six seniors in the spring of 1914. In August 2011, the school moved to a new location, which was built at a construction cost of about $54 million. Construction began on the new location in 2008 after planning concluded. Ankeny Centennial High School opened in 2013, drawing students from what was the northern portion of AHS' attendance zone. Weldon Spring, Missouri
Weldon Spring is a city in St. Charles County, Missouri, United States. The population was 5,326 at the 2020 census. History Weldon Spring was platted in 1864. The community took its name from a spring of the same name near the original town site. A post office called Weldon Spring was established in 1875, and remained in operation until 1957. In 1941, the United States Army purchased 17,000 acres of land in the surrounding area. The Weldon Spring Ordnance Works built the largest explosives factory in the United States on the site. It was built to produce TNT and DNT for Allied forces during World War II. It closed on August 15, 1945, days after the end of the war. Most of the land was then sold. The National Letter of Intent (NLI) is a document used to indicate a student athlete's commitment to participating in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) colleges and universities in the United States. The NCAA Eligibility Center manages the daily operations of the NLI program while the Collegiate Commissioners Association (CCA) provides governance oversight of the program. Started in 1964 with seven conferences and eight independent institutions, the program included 676 Division I and II participating institutions through the 2023–24 school year.
