2025 Club Atlético River Plate Season
The 2025 season is the 124th year of competition for Club Atlético River Plate, an Argentinian football club based in Buenos Aires. It is their 11th consecutive season in the Argentine Primera División, the top flight of football in the country. The club will also compete in the FIFA Club World Cup, Copa Argentina, and Copa Libertadores. Season events On 17 January, Major League Soccer club Austin FC announced that Sebastián Driussi had left the club to re-sign for River Plate, River formalising the move on 20 January. Marcelo Gallardo
Marcelo Daniel Gallardo (; born 18 January 1976) is an Argentine football manager and former professional player who is the current head coach of River Plate. During his playing career, Gallardo was an attacking midfielder and playmaker. He was regarded for his vision, technique, class, dribbling and especially his defence-splitting passing. Gallardo began his career in the club's youth divisions, and made his debut in the Argentine Primera División at age 17 in 1993. After a six-year period in which he won five local league championships, the 1996 Copa Libertadores and the 1997 Supercopa Libertadores, he transferred to France's Ligue 1 Monaco and was named French League Footballer of the Year in 2000. Kevin Duván Castaño Gil (born 29 September 2000) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Argentine Primera División club River Plate and the Colombia national team. Jeremías Conan Ledesma (born 13 February 1993) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for River Plate.
