2025 Canada Open
The 2025 Canada Open (officially known as the Yonex Canada Open 2025 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament which took place at Markham Pan Am Centre in Markham, Ontario, Canada, from 1 July to 6 July 2025 and had a total purse of $240,000. Tournament The 2025 Canada Open was the sixteenth tournament of the 2025 BWF World Tour and also part of the Canada Open championships, which has been held since 1957. This tournament was organized by the Badminton Canada and sanctioned by the BWF. In 2025, the Canada Open has been downgraded from BWF World Tour Super 500 to Super 300. Venue This international tournament was held at the Markham Pan Am Centre in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Point distribution Below is the point distribution table for each phase of the tournament based on the BWF points system for the BWF World Tour Super 300 event. Markham Pan Am Centre
The Markham Pan Am Centre is a multi-purpose community and aquatics centre located in the new downtown area of Markham, Ontario, Canada. The facility was designed to host the badminton, table tennis and water polo events for the 2015 Pan American Games, held in nearby Toronto in July and August, 2015. The venue also hosted the table tennis competition in the 2015 Parapan American Games. During the Pan Am and Parapan American Games the venue was known as the ''Atos Markham Pan Am / Parapan American Centre''. After the 2015 Pan Am Games, the facility continues to be used as a community and competition centre for aquatics, badminton, volleyball, basketball and table tennis for Markham-area residents. Design The 13,657 square metre (147,000 sq. foot) multipurpose centre comprises three gymnasiums for training, competition and community use as well as a 10-lane, 50-metre Olympic-size swimming pool.

The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the BWF World Championships, World Championships and Badminton at the Summer Olympics, Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Julien Carraggi (born 2 July 2000) is a Belgian badminton player. Carraggi participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, helping the team Theta to win the bronze medal in the mixed team event. Srikanth Kidambi
Srikanth Kidambi (born 7 February 1993) is an Indian badminton player. Known for his powerful smashes and quick footwork, he became the first Indian male to reach the World No. 1 ranking in the BWF World Rankings in April 2018.
