2025 CPL–U Sports Draft
The 2025 CPL–U Sports Draft was the seventh annual CPL–U Sports Draft. Canadian Premier League (CPL) teams selected 16 eligible U Sports soccer players to be invited to their respective preseason camps with the opportunity to earn development contracts for the 2025 Canadian Premier League season. Format Players could be selected if they had one to four years of U Sports eligibility remaining, were in good academic standing, were planning to return to school the following year, and completed the CPL's draft declaration form. Players who were selected can sign a full professional contract or a U Sports development contract, which allows them to return to university for the following season, without losing their eligibility. Luca Accettola
Luca Accettola (born February 19, 2004) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for York United FC in the Canadian Premier League. Early life Accettola began playing youth soccer at age three with Vaughan Azzurri. In February 2015, he joined the Toronto FC Academy. University career In 2024, Accettola began attending York University, where he played for the men's soccer team. He scored his first goal in his debut on August 30 against the McMaster Marauders. In late September 2024, he was named the York University Male Athlete of the Week. In his rookie season, he recorded seven goals and added five assists. Scrosoppi Football Club is a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in Milton, Ontario, that plays in League1 Ontario Premier.
