2024–25 Ulster Rugby Season
The 2024–25 season was Ulster Rugby's 31st season since the advent of professionalism in rugby union, and Richie Murphy's first full season as head coach of the men's senior team. New signings included South African wing Werner Kok, Irish-qualified New Zealand out-half Aidan Morgan, and former Ireland Sevens wing Zac Ward. Ulster's men finished 14th in the fourth United Rugby Championship, failing to qualify for the European Rugby Champions Cup for the first time, and 3rd in its Irish Shield competition. In Europe, Ulster took part in the 2024-25 European Rugby Champions Cup, qualifying as 16th seed from the pool stage, before going out in the round of 16 to Bordeaux. Cormac Izuchukwu made his debut for Ireland, with Iain Henderson, Rob Herring, Tom O'Toole, Stuart McCloskey and Jacob Stockdale also being capped. Ulster Rugby
Ulster Rugby is one of the four professional provincial rugby union teams from the island of Ireland. They compete in the Irish regional pool of the United Rugby Championship and in the European Rugby Champions Cup, each of which they have won once. Ulster were the first Irish team and the first team outside England and France to win the European Cup in 1999. The team represents the IRFU Ulster Branch, which is one of the four primary branches of the IRFU and is responsible for rugby union throughout the geographical Irish province of Ulster, comprising Northern Ireland ( Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry and Tyrone) and three counties in the Republic of Ireland which are Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan. Union Bordeaux Bègles
Union Bordeaux Bègles (; ) is a French professional rugby union team playing in the Top 14, the first level of the country's professional league system. They earned their Top 14 place by winning the promotion playoffs that followed the 2010–11 season in the second-level Pro D2. Upon promotion to the Top 14 in 2011, they were assured a place in the European Challenge Cup. They were founded in 2006 as a result of a merger between two Bordeaux clubs, Stade Bordelais and Club Athlétique Bordeaux-Bègles Gironde. They wear claret (in French: ''bordeaux'') and white. They are based in Bordeaux (Nouvelle-Aquitaine), and play at the Stade Chaban-Delmas. Clovers (rugby Union)
The Clovers are an Irish women's regional rugby union team representing the provinces of Connacht and Munster. Founded in 2023, the team competes in the Celtic Challenge, the international competition between Scottish, Welsh and Irish regional teams. They are funded by the IRFU. History The IRFU announced the creation of the Clovers and Wolfhounds women's teams in December 2023. They replaced a Combined Provinces team, which competed in and won the inaugural Celtic Challenge season in 2023. With only two places available for Irish teams in the competition, the IRFU opted to merge its provinces: the Clovers represent the provinces of Connacht and Munster. IRFU Women's Interprovincial Series
The IRFU Women's Interprovincial Series, previously known as the IWRFU Interprovincial Championship, is the top level women's rugby union competition in Ireland. It is organised by the Irish Rugby Football Union. It is the women's equivalent of the IRFU Interprovincial Championship. The competition takes place every December and features four teams representing Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster. The competition effectively acts as a selection trials process for the Ireland women's national rugby union team that competes in the subsequent Women's Six Nations Championship. Leinster Rugby () is one of the four professional provincial club rugby union teams from the island of Ireland. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. Emerging Ireland
Emerging Ireland is an Irish international rugby union team that represents Irish Rugby Football Union, Ireland in selected matches, tours and competitions. Composed of Ireland qualified players only, mostly uncapped or at the beginning of their careers, it forms part of the development pathway to the senior Ireland team. It is not to be confused with the Ireland A national rugby union team, Ireland Wolfhounds, the national 'A' team which occasionally competes and is a level below the national side but with no age restrictions, nor with the Ireland national under-20 rugby union team, Elite U-20 team with strict age limits that competes in the Under-20 Six Nations and Rugby World Cup.
