2024–25 PlusLiga
The 2024–25 PlusLiga was the 89th season of the PlusLiga, Polish Volleyball Championship, the 72nd season of the highest tier domestic division in the Polish volleyball league system since its establishment in 1954, and the 25th season as a professional league. The league is operated by the Polish Volleyball League SA (). This season was composed of 16 teams. The regular season was played as a round-robin tournament. Each team played a total of 30 matches, half at home and half away. The season started on 13 September 2024 and concluded on 10 May 2025. LKPS Lublin, Bogdanka LUK Lublin claimed their maiden Polish Champions title, beating Warta Zawiercie (volleyball), Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in the finals, and therefore becoming only the 5th club in PlusLiga history to have won the league. PlusLiga
The PlusLiga is the highest level of men's volleyball in Poland, a professional league competition featuring volleyball clubs located in this country. It is overseen by Polska Liga Siatkówki SA (PLS SA). It is currently a 14 teams league from October to April/May. The regular season is followed by playoffs, with the winner earning the Polish Championship (). It is one of the best volleyball leagues in Europe, being highly ranked in the international competitions. The league in its current form was founded in 2000 and was originally known as Polska Liga Siatkówki ''(Polish Volleyball League)''. Since 2008 it is named PlusLiga after a mobile phone network brand, Plus. György Grozer
György Grozer (born 27 November 1984), also known as Georg Grozer, is a German professional volleyball player of Hungarian origin who plays as an opposite spiker for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and the Germany national team. Personal life Grozer was born in Budapest, Hungary. His father, György Grozer Senior is a former volleyball player and coach. With his first wife Violetta he has two daughters – Leana (born 2007) and Loreen (born 2010). Career Club He was crowned national champion on two occasions, in 2009 and 2010, while playing for VfB Friedrichshafen. After moving to the Polish league he was Polish champion in his second season (2011/2012) with Asseco Resovia Rzeszów. Luke Perry (volleyball)
Luke Perry (born 20 November 1995) is an Australian professional volleyball player who plays as a libero for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and the Australia national team. Career He began playing volleyball in 2009 for his school. In late 2012, he accepted a scholarship to the AIS (Australian Institute of Sport), in Canberra, where he began training full-time in volleyball. In 2013, he was selected as part of the Volleyroos. Aaron Russell
Aaron Joseph Russell (born June 4, 1993) is an American professional volleyball player who plays as an outside hitter for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and the U.S. national team. He was a bronze medalist at the Olympic Games Rio 2016, Paris 2024 and the 2018 World Championship. Personal life Russell grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland, U.S. His parents are Stewart and Marian Russell. Russell was born the second of five boys. The other brothers are Peter (1992), Samuel (1995), Tim (1999), and Paul (2002). Peter also plays volleyball professionally. Russell was a top soccer player for Centennial High School in Maryland. The school did not have a boys' volleyball team so he helped the girls' team train while playing club volleyball at MVP (Maryland Volleyball Program). Bartosz Kwolek (born 17 July 1997) is a Polish professional volleyball player who plays as an outside hitter for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and the Poland national team.
