The 2024–25 season was the 106th season in the history of Montpellier HSC, and its 16th consecutive season in Ligue 1. The club finished 18th and was relegated to Ligue 2. In addition to the domestic league, the team participated in the Coupe de France, getting knocked out in the round of 64. Michel Der Zakarian
Michel Der Zakarian (, born on 18 February 1963) is an Armenian professional football manager and former player who played as a defender. Raised in France, he played for Nantes and Montpellier, and earned five caps for the Armenia national team in the mid-1990s. As a manager, he led Nantes, Montpellier (two spells each) and Brest in Ligue 1, and Clermont, Reims, and Caen in Ligue 2. Boubakar "Kiki" Kouyaté (born 15 April 1997) is a Malian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Montpellier and the Mali national team. Club career Early career Kouyaté began his career in 2013 with "Esperance Football Club de Médine" in Bamako at third and second level in Malian football. He signed with Moroccan club Kawkab Marrakech, playing in the Botola. Having finished third in the previous season, Kawkab qualified for the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup, and the club reached the group stage. Rabby Nzingoula (born 25 November 2005) is a French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Strasbourg. Nicolas Pays (born 7 July 2003) is a French professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Montpellier. Career Born in Le Puy-en-Velay, Pays grew up in the nearby commune of Blavozy, where he played for local team US Blavozy. In 2015, he signed for Le Puy, before joining the academy of Clermont in 2018. Téji Tedy Savanier (born 22 December 1991) is a French professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Montpellier. Formed at Montpellier, where he only made the reserve team in his first spell, he began his professional career at Arles-Avignon in Ligue 2.
