2024–25 Bahraini Second Division
The 2024–25 Bahraini Second Division is the 22nd edition of the second and lowest level football league in Bahrain. The season started on 19 September 2024 and will end on a date that is yet to be determined. Teams Twelve teams are competing in the league – the bottom eight teams from the previous season, the bottom two teams from the promotion play-offs and the two teams directly relegated from the Premier League. The directly relegated teams were Al-Hala and Busaiteen and the team relegated from the relegation play-offs was Al-Hidd, who all returned to the second tier after respective absences of four, one and fifteen years. They replaced Bahrain SC, A'Ali and Malkiya, who were promoted to the Premier League after respective spells of one, two and three years in the second tier. Bahraini Second Division
The Bahraini Second Division is the second-tier domestic football competition in the kingdom of Bahrain. The first season was held in 2002 for the 2002–03 season, however it was rebranded to the modern-day Second Division for the 2009–10 season. The champion and the second-placed team of the domestic league are directly promoted to the Bahraini Premier League, and promotion play-offs are held between the teams of both leagues to decide the two other promoted teams. The championship is currently contested by 12 clubs. Hamad Town
Madinat Hamad or ''Hamad Town'' () is a primarily commuter city within northern Bahrain. It was a municipality of Bahrain in the central part of the country. Split from the municipality of Ar Rifa' wa al Mintaqah al Janubiyah in 1991, its territory is now in the Northern Governorate. Its name refers to the current king of Bahrain, Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. The city is culturally diverse, housing a proportionally mixed Shia-Sunni population of varying socio-economic backgrounds. Today, Hamad Town is an epitome of Bahraini multiculturalism, with no single ethnic or religious group making up the majority of inhabitants. 2025–26 Bahraini Premier League
The Bahraini Premier League is the main domestic football competition in the kingdom of Bahrain. Currently known as the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League, the first season was held in 1956-1957. The winners of the domestic championship qualify for the AFC Champions League Two. The championship is currently contested by 12 clubs. Structure Current structure 12 clubs currently play a two round robin set of fixtures totaling 22 games in order to determine the league champions. Although games are theoretically to be played on a home and away basis, almost all games are played at the National Stadium. The eleventh and twelfth-placed clubs are relegated with the ninth and tenth entering the relegation play-offs. Al-Hidd Sports and Cultural Club () is a Bahraini football club based in Al Hidd, Muharraq Island. They currently compete in the Bahraini Premier League, the top division of Bahraini football league. Hidd SCC also operates a futsal team, which competes in Bahrain Futsal League. Isa Town
Isa Town (, ''Madīnat ʿĪsā'') is a middle class town located in Bahrain, in the north central part of the country. Etymology The name ''Isa'' refers to Isa ibn Salman Al Khalifah, a former ruler of Bahrain, from 1961 to 1999. History Isa Town largely comprises affluent newly constructed villas, and is home to many members of Bahrain's educated middle class. In 2002's election it was one of the few areas of Bahrain not to be entirely represented by an Islamist or right-wing MP, with Abdnabi Salman of the formerly communist Democratic Bloc winning the seat. Shahrakan is a village situated in the western side of the Kingdom of Bahrain, south of the village of Malkiya. The village lies in the Northern Governorate administrative region. Busaiteen
Busaiteen or Beseytin () is a small town in northern Bahrain. It is located on Muharraq Island, just north of Muharraq City. The town is historically a Sunni-majority area, although in recent years some Shi’ite residents have started moving into Busaiteen however the number of them remains small. Etymology The town's name, "''Busaiteen''," is claimed to pertain to the large number of orchards (Basātīn بساتين in Arabic) found in it, however, just like other city names of Bahrain, it is possible that it has Persian roots, as it sounds (pronunciation wise) more like " Beseytin" a village in Khozestan, Iran.
