2024–25 ABA League First Division
The 2024–25 AdmiralBet ABA League is the 24th season of the ABA League and the first season after the expansion to 16 teams. Apart from teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia, a new team, Dubai Basketball, from the United Arab Emirates played in the competition as well. This was the first time since the 2014–15 season that a team outside the territory of the former Yugoslavia competed in the league. Tayler Anthony Persons (born August 31, 1995) is an American basketball player for Krka of the Slovenian Basketball League and the ABA League. Standing at , he plays as point guard. Persons played for Northern Kentucky and Ball State before heading overseas to play professionally. College career Persons played his freshman season at Northern Kentucky. He averaged 13.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game and was named Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year. Following the season, he transferred to Ball State. Persons was the first player ever for the Ball State Cardinals to finish his career with 1,000 points and 400 assists. He left the Cardinals as ninth leading scorer all-time and third highest assists total. ABA League
The ABA League, renamed the ABA League First Division in 2017, is the top-tier regional men's professional basketball league that originally featured clubs from former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia). Due to sponsorship reasons, the league was also known as the Goodyear League from 2001 to 2006, the NLB League from 2006 to 2011, and as the AdmiralBet ABA League from 2021. The 2025–26 AdmiralBet ABA League is the 24th season of the ABA League. Beside 16 teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and United Arab Emirates, the ABA league board proposed possible expansion to 20 teams, with up to four wild cards given to any basketball team from the Europe or wider.
