2024–2025 Palestinian Authority Operation In Jenin
On 5 December 2024, the Palestinian Authority (PA) began a large-scale operation in the West Bank city of Jenin against the Jenin Brigades, a Palestinian militias in the West Bank, local Palestinian militia. The PA called it "Operation Protect the Homeland" and said it was launched in order to "eradicate sedition and chaos" in the West Bank, portraying militants as agents of instability that are indirectly aiding the Far-right politics in Israel, Israeli far-right, which has sought to weaken the PA. Jenin ( ; , ) is a city in the West Bank, Palestine, and is the capital of the Jenin Governorate. It is a hub for the surrounding towns. Al-Quds Brigades (, ''Sarāyā al-Quds'' meaning "Jerusalem Brigades") is a paramilitary organisation and the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamist organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), which is the second largest armed group in the Gaza Strip, after Hamas. 2025 Israeli Raid On Jenin
On 21 January 2025, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) began a large-scale military operation, which it named "Iron Wall", against Palestinian militants in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
