2024 World Series Of Darts
The 2024 World Series of Darts is a series of televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. Six World Series events will be held followed by one finals event, which like the previous year will take place in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Two new venues made their debuts with Maaspoort hosting the Dutch Masters and the Gliwice Arena hosting the Poland Masters for the first time. Professional Darts Corporation
The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation in the United Kingdom, established in 1992 when a group of leading players split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to form what was initially called the World Darts Council (WDC). Sports promoter Eddie Hearn is the PDC chairman. The PDC developed and holds several championship competitions, including the annual PDC World Darts Championship, the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, UK Open, Premier League, and Grand Slam. AFAS Live
AFAS Live (formerly known as the Heineken Music Hall) is a concert hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands, near the Johan Cruyff Arena. The big hall, named "Black Box" has a capacity of 6,000 and is 3000 m2; a smaller hall for after parties (Beat Box) has a capacity of 700. Globox Arena
Globox Arena (formerly Claudelands Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor sports and entertainment arena located in Hamilton, New Zealand. Globox Arena is part of Claudelands Events Centre which contains a 6000-capacity arena and four-star conference and exhibition centre. Construction began on Claudelands Events Centre in 2007 and was completed in 2011 at a cost of $68.4 million ($NZD). The 2024 New Zealand Darts Masters was the fourth staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, and the seventh entry in the 2024 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (eight PDC players and eight regional qualifiers) and was held at the Globox Arena in Hamilton, New Zealand on 16–17 August 2024. Rob Cross was the defending champion after defeating Nathan Aspinall 8–7 in the 2023 final. He was eliminated in the quarter–finals, losing 5–6 to Damon Heta. Wollongong Entertainment Centre
Wollongong Entertainment Centre (also known by its naming rights sponsor WIN Entertainment Centre and colloquially as the WEC) is a multi-purpose indoor arena, located in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. The WEC opened on 5 September 1998 with a concert by Bob Dylan and Patti Smith; 4,935 people attended the event. Dylan performed at the venue again in 2011, performing to a crowd of 3,214 people, and again in 2018.
