2024 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship
The 2024 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship was the 124th staging of the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Waterford GAA, Waterford County Board in 1897 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship, 1897. The draws for the group stage pairings was made on 29 January 2024. The championship is scheduled to run from 19 July to September 2024. Ballygunner GAA, Ballygunner entered the championship as the 2023 Waterford Senior Hurling Championship, defending champions. Tallow GAA, Tallow were relegated after losing a #Relegation playoffs, playoff to Clonea Power–Rathgormack GAA, Clonea. Fraher Field
Fraher Field () is a GAA stadium, located in Dungarvan, County Waterford, owned by the Waterford GAA County Board. It has a total capacity of around 15,000. History Dan Fraher (1852–1929), an Irish language activist and scholar and promoter of Gaelic games, leased the land in 1885 and bought it outright in 1912. The stadium was renamed in his honour in 1995. With the obvious exception of Croke Park, Fraher Field has been the venue for more all-Ireland senior hurling finals than any other venue, having hosted the 1903, 1905, 1907 and 1911 deciders. Various improvements have been made to the stadium since 1995, including the addition of a new stand on one side of the pitch, and the improvement of standing facilities in general. Lismore GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Lismore, County Waterford, Ireland. The club enters teams in both GAA codes each year, which includes two adult hurling teams and one adult Gaelic football team in the Waterford County Championships. Mount Sion () is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Waterford City, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It was founded by teachers in the school of the same name. Although technically separate from the school, the club still maintains a close relationship with the school, sharing the same sports facilities in the city. Walsh Park
Walsh Park () is a GAA stadium in Waterford, Ireland named after Willie Walsh, a well-known referee and long time campaigner for Gaelic games in Waterford. It is one of the two homes of the Waterford Gaelic football and hurling teams, the other being Fraher Field in Dungarvan. The two grounds are rivals for important games. Roanmore GAA (Irish: ) is a GAA club in Waterford City, Republic of Ireland. Formed in 1970, the club made rapid progress, achieving Senior Hurling status in 1980. The club's greatest achievement was winning back to back Waterford Senior Hurling Championships in 1989 and 1990. The club enters teams in both GAA codes each year, which includes two adult hurling teams and one adult Gaelic football team in the Waterford County Championships. Ferrybank GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club based in the village of Ferrybank Co Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland. Waterford Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Waterford Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship (abbreviated to the Waterford PIHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking intermediate clubs in the county of Waterford in Ireland. It is the second tier overall in the entire Waterford hurling championship system. The Waterford Premier Intermediate Championship was introduced in 2023 following a restructuring of the intermediate championship. In its current format, the championship begins in mid summer. The eight participating teams are drawn into two groups of four teams and play each other in a round-robin system. All eight teams proceed to the knockout phase that culminates with the final match at Walsh Park.
