2024 UAE Tour
The 2024 UAE Tour was a road cycling stage race that took place between 19 and 25 February in the United Arab Emirates. It was the sixth edition of the UAE Tour, and the third race of the 2024 UCI World Tour. The race was won by Belgian rider Lennert Van Eetvelt of Lotto-Dstny with a margin of victory of two seconds, after a late attack on the final mountain stage. 2024 UCI World Tour
The 2024 UCI World Tour was a series of races that included thirty-five road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2024 in men's road cycling, 2024 cycling season. The tour started with the 2024 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 16 January, and concluded with the 2024 Tour of Guangxi, Tour of Guangxi on 20 October. Liwa Oasis
The Liwa Oasis () is a large oasis area in the Western Region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. Geography Liwa Oasis is about south of the Persian Gulf coast and southwest of the city of Abu Dhabi, on the northern edge of Rub' al Khali desert. It is centered around and stretches about east-west, along an arch curved to the north. It consists of some 50 villages. The geographic and economic center of the oasis is Muzayri`, where the highway from Abu Dhabi enters the oasis and then divides to the east ( to the easternmost village, Mahdar Bin `Usayyan) and west ( to the westernmost village, `Aradah). According to the census of population of 2005, the population was 20,196. Earlier estimates judging from satellite images which gauged the population at 50,000 to 150,000, were too high. Dubai Marina
Dubai Marina (), also known as Marsa Dubai, is a district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is built around an artificially constructed canal along a stretch of the Persian Gulf shoreline. In 2018 it had a population of 55,052. The district can accommodate over 120,000 people, and is located on Interchange 5 between Jebel Ali Port and the area which hosts Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, and the American University in Dubai. The Dubai Marina was inspired by the Concord Pacific Place development along False Creek in Vancouver, Canada. There have been many instances of marine wildlife, especially whales and sharks, entering the marina because of its proximity to the open sea. Jebel Jais () is a mountain of the North- Western Hajar range in the Musandam Governorate of Oman and also in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. The summit has an elevation of . The summit is located on the Omani side, but a high point west of this peak is considered the highest point in the United Arab Emirates, at above sea level, and with around 10m of prominence. Since the summit is on the Omani side, Jabal ar Raḩraḩ, at , is the highest peak in the UAE, with significant prominence. Al Marjan Island is a group of 4 coral-shaped islands in a man-made archipelago located in Al Jazirah Al Hamra, Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, in the Persian Gulf. Brandon Alexander McNulty (born April 2, 1998) is an American cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . In the 2016 UCI Road World Championships – Men's junior time trial, 2016 UCI Junior World Time Trial Championships McNulty became the fourth American junior world champion after Greg LeMond, Jeff Evanshine, and Taylor Phinney, winning the time trial by 35 seconds. Career Early career McNulty grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and enjoyed riding mountain bikes in his free time. McNulty excelled early, winning almost every mountain bike race he entered while racing in the 11-12 junior categories. McNulty gradually transitioned to road racing. After several wins in local races in Belgium in 2014, McNulty caught the eye of Roy Knickman, manager of LUX cycling. An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream.
