2024 Toyota 200
The 2024 Toyota 200 presented by CK Power was the 12th stock car race of the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and the 11th iteration of the event. The race was held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in Madison, Illinois at World Wide Technology Raceway, a 1.25 miles (2.01 km) permanent asphalt quad-oval shaped speedway. The race took the scheduled 160 laps to complete. Corey Heim, driving for Tricon Garage, continues to show his dominance in the Truck Series, and led the final 65 laps of the race to earn his ninth career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win, and his fourth of the season. Heim would also claim the $50,000 bonus prize after winning the second Triple Truck Challenge race. Pole-sitter Ty Majeski won both stages and led 43 laps, but fell back in the final stage to finish 4th. To fill out the podium, Christian Eckes, driving for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, and Nick Sanchez, driving for Rev Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The Toyota 200 was a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway (formerly Gateway Motorsports Park). The race has been held each year since 1998 except for 2011, 2012 and 2013. The track closed after the 2010 race, reopened in 2012 under new ownership, and the race returned to the schedule in 2014. Race history Rick Carelli won the first truck race at Gateway. A year later Greg Biffle won the first night race for the series at Gateway. In 2000, the race date was moved to May, and the time of race was once again day. Jack Sprague not only won that race, but holds the average speed record for the event to this day. A year later Ted Musgrave won the event after showers moved the race back into the evening. Gateway Motorsports Park (currently known as World Wide Technology Raceway for sponsorship reasons) is a motor racing facility in Madison, Illinois, just east of St. Louis, close to the Gateway Arch. It features a oval that hosts the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the NTT IndyCar Series, a infield road course used by SpeedTour TransAm, SCCA, and Porsche Club of America, a quarter-mile NHRA-sanctioned drag strip that hosts the annual NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Midwest Nationals event, and the Kartplex, a state-of-the-art karting facility. Christian Donald Eckes (pronounced "eck-iss"; born November 10, 2000) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 16 Chevrolet SS for Kaulig Racing, and part-time in the ARCA Menards Series West, driving the No. 19 Chevrolet for Bill McAnally Racing. Eckes is the 2019 ARCA Menards Series champion, won the Snowball Derby in 2016, and was formerly a development driver for JR Motorsports and later Toyota.
