2024 Toronto Argonauts Season
The 2024 Toronto Argonauts season is the 66th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 151st year of existence. The Argonauts will attempt to qualify for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year and win their league-leading 19th Grey Cup championship. The 2024 CFL season is the fourth season for head coach Ryan Dinwiddie and the fifth season for Michael Clemons as general manager. On July 11, 2024, team owners, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), parted ways with team president, Bill Manning, and stated that Clemons would report directly to MLSE President, Keith Pelley. East Division (CFL)
The East Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League, its counterpart being the West Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the East Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The four teams in the division are the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Ottawa Redblacks. Several now-defunct teams have also played in the East Division including two teams from the United States and a large number of teams that have played in Hamilton, Montreal, and Ottawa prior to the current teams from those cities. The Calgary Dinos football team represents the University of Calgary in the sport of Canadian football in U Sports. The program has been in operation since 1964, winning the Vanier Cup national championship five times (1983, 1985, 1988, 1995, 2019), the most out of any of the Canada West teams. Waterloo Warriors Football
The Waterloo Warriors football team represents the University of Waterloo in the sport of Canadian football in U Sports. The Warriors U Sports football program has been in operation since 1957, winning two Yates Cup conference championships in 1997 and 1999. Currently, they are one of six teams to have never appeared in a Vanier Cup game and the longest tenured program in the OUA to have never qualified for the national championship game. Recent history In the 21st century, the program struggled to compete in the OUA, having not qualified for the playoffs from 2004 to 2017 and not having a winning record since 2001. Tyson Hergott (born December 12, 2001) is a Canadian professional football defensive lineman for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). University career Hergott played U Sports football for the Waterloo Warriors from 2019 to 2023. He did not play in 2020 due to the cancellation of the 2020 U Sports football season. Then, during the winter of 2021, Hergott suffered an achilles tendon rupture during an off-season workout which caused his to miss the entire 2021 season. The Laval Rouge et Or football team represents Laval University in Quebec City in the sport of Canadian football in U Sports. The program began its first regular season in 1996 and has quickly become one of the most successful programs in Canadian university football history.
