2024 Tenet Media Investigation
Tenet Media was an American right-wing media company founded by conservatives Lauren Chen and Liam Donovan (her husband) in 2022. Describing itself as a "network of heterodox commentators that focus on western political and cultural issues", Tenet Media featured six right-wing influencers: Matt Christiansen, Tayler Hansen, Benny Johnson, Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, and Lauren Southern. In 2024 the U.S. charged two Russian media executives in a $10 million scheme to illegally fund Tenet Media and influence it to promote Russian propaganda. The company shut down shortly afterward. Lauren Chen
Lauren Chen (born 1994 as Lauren Yu Sum Tam) is a Hong Kong-Canadian conservative political commentator and former YouTube personality. She has been involved with Glenn Beck's BlazeTV and Turning Point USA and has contributed opinion pieces to RT, a Russian state media outlet. Her husband, Liam Donovan, was president of the now-defunct Tenet Media, a company they co-founded. Early life and education Lauren Yu Sum Tam was born in Quebec, Canada, and spent much of her childhood in Hong Kong. She has lived in Shanghai, Singapore, and London. Chen attended the University of Southern California and Brigham Young University, where she studied political science and screenwriting. Crocus City Hall Attack
On 22 March 2024, a coordinated terrorist attack against civilians occurred at the Crocus City Hall music venue in Crocus City, Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, Russia. The attack began at around 20:00 Moscow Time, MSK (UTC+3), shortly before the Russian band Picnic (band), Picnic was scheduled to play a sold-out show at the venue. Four terrorists associated with Islamic State – Khorasan Province (IS–KP or ISIS-K) carried out a mass shooting, as well as Stabbing as a terrorist tactic, slashing attacks on the people gathered at the venue, and used incendiary devices to set the venue on fire.
