The Parade of Nations at the 2024 Summer Paralympics opening ceremony, opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games took place on 28 August as a "people's parade" on the Champs-Élysées. Athletes from 169 delegations moved from the Arc de Triomphe down the Champs-Élysées to the Place de la Concorde. 2024 Summer Paralympics Opening Ceremony
The Olympic ceremonies, opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Paralympics took place on the evening of 28 August 2024 at the Place de la Concorde in Paris. It was the first time that a Summer Paralympic Games opening ceremony was held outside of a stadium. Like the 2024 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, this event was directed by Alexander Ekman (artist), Alexander Ekman and Thomas Jolly. The ceremony was themed around the human body and "history and its paradoxes", and featured more than 500 dancers and performers. Unlike the Olympics opening ceremony, which took place mostly under rain, the weather was clear and sunny with a view of sunset during the ceremony. Edina Müller
Edina Müller (born 28 June 1983) is a German 2.5 point wheelchair basketball player and KL1 canoeist. She played for ASV Bonn in the German wheelchair basketball league, and for the national team. As part of the German women's national wheelchair basketball team, she won bronze at the 2006 World Cup in Amsterdam, won three time European champions (in 2007, 2009, 2011), a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, and a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. The team was voted 2008 Team of the Year in disabled sports, and Horst Köhler presented it with Germany's highest sports award, the '' Silbernes Lorbeerblatt'' (Silver Laurel Leaf). Greta Vardanyan
Greta Vardanyan (born February 20, 1986) is an Armenian powerlifter and Para-alpine skier. She has competed on four occasions for Armenia at the Paralympic Games, one Winter and three Summer. Vardanyan was the flag bearer on each occasion when she attended a Summer Games. Early life Greta Vardanyan (née Khndzrtsyan) was born on February 20, 1986. When she was two, she was injured in the 1988 Armenian earthquake. As a result, both her legs were amputated above the knee. Vardanyan's parents and siblings died due to injuries sustained in the earthquake. Sporting career Para-alpine skiing Vardanyan started to compete in sports in 1993, initially in para-alpine skiing. She was spotted, and between 2002 and 2005 she took part competitively in the United States.
