2024 Strade Bianche Donne
The 2024 Strade Bianche Donne was an Italian Road bicycle racing, road cycling one-day race that took place on 2 March. It was the tenth edition of Strade Bianche Donne and the fifth event of the 2024 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was won by Belgian rider Lotte Kopecky of Team SD Worx–Protime. Route The race starts and finishes in Siena, Italy. Taking place over (a similar distance to previous editions of the race), the course contains 40 km of '''strade bianche gravel roads spread over twelve sectors, four sectors over a total of 10 km more than in previous editions of the race. The final kilometre in Siena to the finish line in the Piazza del Campo has a maximum gradient of 16%. 2024 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2024 UCI Women's World Tour was a competition that included twenty-seven road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2024 in women's road cycling, 2024 women's cycling season. It was be the ninth edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with the 2024 Women's Tour Down Under, Women's Tour Down Under from 12 to 14 January, and finished with the Tour of Guangxi on 20 October. Belgian rider Lotte Kopecky () won the individual classification with 4596 points, after a close battle with her teammate Demi Vollering throughout the season. Strade Bianche
The Strade Bianche (; ) is a road bicycle race in Tuscany, Central Italy, starting and finishing in Siena. First held in 2007, it is raced annually on the first or second Saturday of March. The name stems from the historic white gravel roads in the Crete Senesi, which are a defining feature of the race. Around one-third of the total race distance is raced on dirt roads, covering between around and of ''strade bianche'', spread over multiple sectors. Despite its short history, the Strade Bianche has quickly gained prestige, and renewed interest in gravel racing, road racing on gravel and dirt roads as a specific skill and discipline.
