Snooker Shoot Out
The Snooker Shoot Out is a professional snooker tournament played under a variation of the standard rules. First staged in 1990 Shoot-Out, 1990 as the Shoot-Out, the event was revived in 2011 Snooker Shoot-Out, 2011 and renamed the Snooker Shoot Out. Held from 2011 to 2016 as a non-ranking event with 64 competitors, it became a Snooker world rankings, ranking event in 2017 Snooker Shoot Out, 2017 for an expanded field of 128 players. Unlike other major snooker tournaments, each match only consists of one frame, played over a maximum of 10 minutes, with a shot clock in effect; the format allows a player to claim the title by only winning 7 frames of snooker, making it the shortest possible run to win a ranking event. Sophie Nix
Sophie Nix (born 1 July 2008) is a Scottish snooker player. In February 2024 she became the top-ranked under-21 women's player. Career Sophie Nix started playing pool on holiday when whe was 9. After returning from holiday, she started playing pool at a local amusement arcade; where she was seen by coach Alan Duffy and invited to join his junior snooker academy. After playing twice a week for a couple of years, she started playing daily. From about 2022, she started being coached by Chris Small as well as by Duffy. She played her first tournament on the World Women's Snooker Tour in 2021, when she was 13. EBSA European Under-18 Snooker Championship
The EBSA European Under-18 Snooker Championships is an amateur junior snooker tournament. The event series is sanctioned by the European Billiards and Snooker Association and started from 2016. The inaugural tournament was won by Tyler Rees who defeated fellow countryman Jackson Page 5–2 in the final. The 2017 Shoot Out (officially the 2017 Coral Snooker Shoot Out) was a professional ranking snooker tournament which took place at the Watford Colosseum in Watford from 23 to 26 February 2017. It was played under a variation of the standard rules of snooker. In 2017 it was extended from 64 to 128 players, and became a ranking tournament for the first time in its history. It was the 15th ranking event of the 2016/2017 season. Robin Hull was the defending champion, but he lost 18–25 to Fergal O'Brien in the second round.
