2024 Singapore Open (badminton)
The 2024 Singapore Open (officially known as the KFF Singapore Badminton Open 2024 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament which took place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore from 28 May to 2 June 2024 and had a total purse of $850,000. Tournament The 2024 Singapore Open was the fourteenth tournament of the 2024 BWF World Tour and also part of the Singapore Open championships, which had been held since 1929. This tournament was organized by the Singapore Badminton Association with sanction from the BWF Venue This international tournament was held at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore. Singapore Indoor Stadium
The Singapore Indoor Stadium, known exonymously as the Indoor Stadium, is an indoor arena located in Kallang, Singapore. It is within walking distance of the Singapore National Stadium, and collectively form a part of the wider Singapore Sports Hub. It has a maximum total capacity of 15,000 depending on configuration, with an all-seating configuration of 12,000. It regularly hosts events such as music concerts, badminton, basketball, netball, tennis, esports, pro-wrestling, mixed martial arts, kickboxing, and monster truck races. BWF World Tour
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). One other category of tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also offers ranking points. Leong Jun Hao
Leong Jun Hao ( zh, t=梁峻豪, s=, p=Liáng Jùnháo; born 13 July 1999) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was the boys' singles champion at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships. This achievement was followed by a silver medal at World Junior Championships. Personal life Leong was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur to Celine Low and Anthony Leong. He started playing badminton for fun outside his house. At the age of 9, he started playing the sport seriously under his father's tutelage. Lee Zii Jia ( zh, s=李梓嘉, poj=Lí Chú-ka, p=Lǐ Zǐjiā, born 29 March 1998) is a Malaysian badminton player. He is a bronze medalist at the Olympic Games, Asian champion and All England champion. He is best known for his smash, especially his backhand smash, physical agility, speed and reflexes in men's singles. Angus Ng Ka Long (born 24 June 1994) is a Hong Kong badminton player. He has a career-high ranking of 6th in the men's singles discipline. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (; born 20 October 1996) is an Indonesian badminton player. He first rose to senior prominence when he won the bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games, having won a 2014 Youth Olympic bronze in 2014.
